With all the earthquakes and natural disasters I was thinking, if you were involved in a tournament online and an earthquake or natural disaster of your choice hit, would a site like stars or ftp refund your buy-in? Obviously for those involved, this is one of the last of their worries, but just curious if people think the sites would and if you think they should or not...
I say why not, if you can prove it hit your area and obv sat out from said time to busting then you should get your monies back. -
A MTT buyin would prolly be the least of your worries if you were involved.

i would just be glad that I'm still alive after those disaster..and OP the first thing u worry is wheather u can get a refund..if u hit
damn u r calm!! -
"There's no natural disaster clause in the TOS!"

pretty sure I said in the OP that the refund would be the least of their worries.
And hoping that SSG's spelling of the word wheather is a pun, otherwise, add spelling to the list of skills FTW
Reason: mocking the kiwi's spelling -
How exactly is it stars fault if a natural disaster occurs in your area? They're a business and have no reason to hand out refunds because something happened to you rendering you unable to play. Would you expect one if a major blizzard hit you in Syracuse and the power went out?
-
I dont' really consider a blizzard as a major natural disaster....especially in syracuse, its more like normal everyday weather and the power goes out here and there because of it, but thats something you expect to happen from time to time. I don't think anyone in Japan signed up thinking, ehhh hope there isn't an earthquake while im playing this session.
I understand they are a business, but there are businesses that give back to those who are in unfortunate circumstances. I'm not demanding they do, just curious. A good way for stars to start spending that 500k -
sounds more like an issue for your insurance company than the poker site. You wouldn't expect Toyota to give everyone that lost their cars in the tsunami a new one, would you?
-
I'm sure they wouldn't refund. They stick to only doing refunds if things are their fault, and even when they are their fault, they'll still find a way to blame others.
Twice I've had tilt go down in tournaments, and my internet connection still be fine, but unable to connect to them. Both times they told me to get bent. I went out and got a Verizon mifi recently to hopefully be able to try and connect from a different source to see if this fixes it.
