I have Logitech too, and mine works good. I don't use my desktop as often anymore so I don't notice a battery issue yet.

i bought the microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard package for like 50 bucks or so. it's pretty good, some problems if the sensor is a lot higher than the mouse, but that's expected. battery life is insanely good, imo

I use it everyday. Super long battery life in the mouse (dock included to charge it), and 4 AA batteries last forever in the keyboard.
