I just want to say thank you to everyone that posted in the other thread and to everyone that watched.
I also wanna say that I'm the first person to admit I didn't play well at this final table. It's a little embarassing, because I was referred to as a professional quite a few times, and I didn't play to the standard of a pro. I'll be quite honest, the money jumps were huge for me....a couple spots meant a years pay and I played nitty and weak as a result. I was convincing myself often that unsure things were sure (like I was gonna get shoved on if I raised this KJ with 16 bbs) and I'm sure I was giving all kinds of information because of my lack of live playing experience, and really missing a lot of resteal opportunities and open raise opportunities due to my lack of courage at the time.
Heads up I was absolutely destroyed...when I limped light he raised me, when I limped to reraise he checked...When I raised light he reraised me...when I attacked his limps with rags because he was showing down J2 in similar spots, he called and took it away one way or another on the flop. He seemed to have me figured out amazingly, and he definitely deserved the win HU.
And even though I was referred to as Annette's student and everything, that was far from represented in this tourney. Annette has taught me a TON about poker, but I still have many leaks and they're magnified when lots of money is on the line. So I don't want this to mis-represent Annette as a teacher (I dont think Annette could get a bad name in poker regardless!)
I'm gonna work on these leaks, however, and with a fantastic teacher like Annette, I'm gonna strive to be as good as I'm capable of.
Lastly I want to say how much I admire players that can play their A game in situations where there is a great deal on the line...Such players like Annette, P0KERPR033, Mr. Menlo, SCtrojans, Lilholdem etc. etc. (There are about 20 of you that are my idols in the poker world.) I hope one day I have that talent!
Thanks for reading, I really wanted to get this off my chest before I look like an idiot on TV.

Congrats on the finish, and dont dwell on how you played...thats some priceless experience there.

Huge congrats miko!!! I wouldn't worry too much about how you look on tv. You are super lucky to have annetty spaghetti coaching you. I don't know any poker players and I have never even studied the game at all so that probably explains why I suck so bad. I am starting to watch some videos now maybe that will help me some. Any advice you could give a donkey like me?

well written miko

Congrats Miko on a great score and great finish! Dont feel embarrassed...feel proud its still a great accomplishment. I know it sucks that you didn't get the win but it will just make you work that much harder and next time you are in that situation you will come out on top. MBN having Annette as a coach how can you not win :) Congrats again buddy well deserved

Good post Mike. You know you're my hero. I always thought u were a great player even before Annette started teaching you. You helped me a lot with my game and continue to be one of the best friends I've ever had.

Thanks for the replies guys...The pay was about $400k Cal, and that for me is a sick sick amount of money...I'm not at all disappointed in the finish, just in my play. Thank you for the nice motivational posts and I think I'm going to learn to disregard the $$ better as time progresses. I hope so anyway! See ya all online,

now that youve made 400k, you wont think about the money nearly even close to as much next time. This is why experienced players have the edge in situations like that. They arent thinking about the money so much anymore because theyve gotten so much already. Just be ready to win next time since youve earned a really nice cushion early on. GL and GJ
