  1. I won't go into what happened but I was slow rolled tonight by a guy that needed to be taught a lesson. Nobody was stabbed. I was wondering what are some of the extreme reactions you have had to a player who slowrolled you live? Or reactions you have seen/heard about.
  2. Reacting to being slow rolled is immature. It is akin to punching someone for calling you names. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  3. he must have been a true douche to do this live.

sorry, bad beat to run into one of these douches

Perhaps it is just the live poker culture I first started out in - I played at underground clubs and if you slow rolled there you were getting the boot real quick. The boot if you were lucky.

  5. Challenge him HU4Rollz in the bed of ur pickup truck in the parking lot...or follow him up to his room and stab him...ez game.
  6. The problem with the whole thing is that the slowroll is designed to get a reaction out of you. If you seem oblivious to it, it fails.

    I'd say punch em.
  7. I heard you had A high and he had a pair of 3's and was legitimately trying to figure out whether to call or not. Guess he made the right call?
  8. I was at foxwoods a few weeks ago and there was a big limit game goin on a few tables away from me. A guy who, i guess, got slow rolled twice by some woman got up on the second time and screamed "Goddamnit! This fucking cunt slow rolled me twice" needless to say he wasn't there much longer
  9. Who cares if you get slow rolled. Seriously doesn't bother me, if you have the best hand you win, gg.

Regardless if you act weak and show slow doesn't matter to me, just classless.
  10. lol.. a guy at Tunica slowrolled a guy with aces, but did not know he even slowrolled. A guy went allin, and he asked the guy how much was it. Then after hearing the amount he announced 'call' and flipped over aces. Everyone at the tables was like wtf? but the guy really was being serious.

  11. Being slowrolled sucks ass. It ain't cool. Hopefully karma gets them back.
  12. It's just a game don't let em get a rise out of you... if you do then they win
  13. stab him in the abdomen very painful and takes a while...... drag him out of the room 2 the trunk of your car. find an isolated swamp and tie his legs 2 cinder blocks. Do a shimmy and slide him in face first.

or you could just laugh it off i dunno
  14. On a lighter note I was playing some SS hu before I went to bed and a guy tried to slowroll me but it backfired... good times

  15. i got slowrolled in the 5r once. i shoved 3k during first lvl with 33 and guy timebanked with AA, and i flopped quads. mwuahahhahahah karma ftw

i then proceeded to laugh my ass off in his face and told him thats what he deserves

  16. I got slowrolled by an old guy at Caesars this summer, it was awsome.

  17. I have only slowrolled once live and I will never do it again because it was perfect. I played 1/3NL at a casino not too far from me before they shut the poker room down. I hated this one other guy who played often but was god awful. He had very bad etiquette and often asked to expose my hand when I mucked. We got into a pot and I ended up with the nuts and got called by him, I threw in my cards knowing he would ask for them to be exposed and needless to say he took a break for about 20 minutes after the incident...he might be the only man I would consider fighting. After typing this out I have no idea if someone on the outside can understand the story or not...I'm low on sleep
  18. totally understand. Many years ago i was playin live and same thing. Guy was a maniac and a total prick. It was my first time so i guess he was a local. I called him same thing..it was a smallish pot. I didnt buy in for much and he asked to see my mucked cards too. I immediately got so pissed but didnt say anything and just looked at him. After he did that he walked off and sat out and talked to someone on other end of room and he looked at me from over there.

I remeber tilting soo hard and wanting to kill the guy. I think i still remember his face. I was going psychotic in my mind and had to leave. Couldnt smoke at the damn place lol.

Anyways, i think your slowroll is the most classic radest one ever...

  19. wait, lobsta, did you throw your cards into the muck KNOWING that he'd ask to see them? And once the dealer flipped them over (the cards being the nuts) the pot was awarded to you?
  20. I would have laughed at u, the victim... then wrote it down and remembered it so i could slowroll u again

  21. My younger brother was playing live once (tournament I believe) and he called this guy down on the river with KQ high on an Ace high board and KO'd the guy and the guy punched him in the face, He then ran out of the casino like a little girl of course... Anyway not a slowroll but still kinda funny... Needless to say the guy came into our bar a few months later and he didnt stay to long........

    That is not slow rolling.
  23. I was at a WPT camp a few years back playing 1/2 NL in the card room at the MGM. I forget the action but I ended up shoving a boat but not the nuts and got called by a guy who immediately flipped his cards over and stood up. I was like wtf and looking at his cards and the board to see what he had and once I saw he had a str8 I flipped over my pocket 10's revealing my full house. The guy flipped out for a couple seconds until he realized I am a big longhair dude and he decided he wasn't interested in taking it any further. Next day I went down to play and he was a dealer there lol. He apologized to me for getting so upset and called the waitress over to get me a redbull.
  24. i pulled off the slowroll of my life at the venetian last month, only b/c the guy was horrible at poker and kept telling everyone how to play and was putting me on tilt by acting like he was good so I had to do it to him. on river i had 55, board was like K7652, i tell him before I bet that I know he is calling whatever I bet, then i make it like pot and he snap calls, I turn over a 5, he gets up out of his seat and slams down KJ and says "King" real loud, then i smile and flip over the other 5, loool. couple guys didn't like it at the table but I kept telling him I did it on purpose so he would be quiet. he definitely took it offensive and possibly cried about it that night but it was seriously the most fun I've ever had at the poker table. a+++ would recommend

  28. It seems to me that online slowrolls more often than not might just be a misunderstanding. Some players may not even know they have the nuts and are just thinking it over. Some players may just be distracted by something at home and leave their cpu for a moment knowing they will be back in time to make the call, this happend to me today when UPS showed up and I had to sign for the package, it didn't cause me to slowroll but if it came at another time it could have. Also some people are just dicks, just try your best to not let it bother you.

Live slowrolls, on the other hand are one of two things. One, it could just be the player is a dick. Two, maybe its part of the player's strategy. Clearly this play works if its an attempt to "tilt" someone and get that person to try and get "even". Once you isolate a player that for no other reason then revenge you want to bust them, if the other player is aware of this and is somewhat competent he will have a clear advantage over the "tilting" player.

Whatever the case, it seeems in your very best interest to remain unaffected by the action.
  29. I was playing a live tourney and I had this prick that was always telling people how badly they play and trying to angle shoot any chance he had. Not really a slow roll but I thought it was funny none the less.

Anyways I get into a hand where I raise the cut off with 98 dd. The prick is in the BB and min raises and I call. Flop comes 10 7 dd, 6 black. He checks and I check my flopped straight. 6 of diamonds on the turn gives me the straight flush. He leads out for a pot sized bet and I re raise back. We get all in.

Guy starts celebrating and slams down his A2 dd and says something along the lines of "I knew I could trap you! I got the nuts!" I flipped over my cards with out saying a word. People start saying "Wow, nice hand" and shit like that and the guy is saying "thanks" he didnt even look at my cards until the dealer pushes the pot to me. I just looked at him and said "Ship it." Only time i can remember saying something like that(other then joking around) after winning a hand.

My experience of live play has only been at Foxwoods and Tunica, but I can tell you that there's no chance it would have been allowed-both cards would have to be faced simultaneously.
