  1. I think if all the sites did away with transfering, this would solve the multiaccounting problem, correct? I know it would be annoying and slow business, impede backing, etc., but I feel that this is a fair solution.
  2. I was thinking the same thing...

I bet its not much of a problem over at bodog
  3. gg backing/trading/etc

there has to be a better way

  4. maybe more of a maximum transfer amount per 30 days

for instance even with a cashout I think stars only allows one cashout via check per 7 days

I know alot of people like to make sidebets and such and prop bets

but would people be opposed to having a cash transfer feature where max of $5,000 or even lower would be imposed???

just looking at my own history most i ever transferred someone was $433.00
  5. I agree Randers,

I use my stars money for alot more than playing poker, I buy stuff from a friend in real life, I pay him on stars, I buy stuff from P5's gear using stars. Not to mention staking my friends, last longer bets, other random bets. All kinds of stuff
  6. yea not a bad idea, just restrict them regulate them CAREFULLY. I think this could be the best solution to the multiaccounting.

Maybe you have to preapprove backing through the sites to get transfers???

  7. NO. It would slow down the cheaters but not sstop them. THey would just do withdraws and pay offs. Sure it would make it harder but if you really wanted to do it, it wouldnt be that hard. When we are talking about hudreds of thousands a year it is not enough to deter.

  8. i dont think the sites ever want to get involved in the approval of backing and saying it is okay. So they alow the transfers are aware backing goes on but do not outright condone it.
  9. please don't, some honest people love the transfers, last year a brother a cousin and two nephews got transfers for christmas, birthdays and just whenever i felt generous or felt sorry for loser nephews

besides, they could just withdraw and transfer via epass, solves nadda
  10. They could dump money in cash games instead of a transfer.
  11. yean can love the transfer but is there really a need to transfer 10k
i understand backing arrangements and the such but if you trust someone enough to get a return on the $$$ can't you trust them enough to mail you the money or get it to you another way?
  12. i am sure it still happens but what i have at least heard sites seem to policing that better

cant stop it 100% there are plenty of legit transfers out there that would get punished for other peoples abuse of said policy

i mean i have used transfer in last few days
sidebets about upcoming NFL season, contests, fantasy football that would suck to not be able to do stuff like that

I think getting rid of transfers would do more harm than good, and honestly, its pretty much the only reason I dont play a bodog.

  15. I think they are pretty clear that this is illegal:

5.7. CHIP-DUMPING. Chip-dumping occurs when any User intentionally loses a hand in order to deliberately transfer his chips to another User. Any User who chip-dumps or attempts to chip-dump with any other User while using the Service may be permanently banned from using the Service and their account may be terminated immediately. In such circumstances pokerstars will be under no obligation to refund to you any monies that may be in your PokerStars account at such time.

  16. No transfers=No Micro Mayhem=no reason to go on living
  17. where there is a will there is a way
  18. and what about wowswift and all the pennies people transfer her, what's she gonna do?
  19. I would be more than happy to end transfers to try and put a dent in this shit because it really pisses me off how I play straight up my entire 'career' and then to see all of these fucking douches makes me sick.
  20. What about players that get a piece of each other in tourneys?, What about players that loan each other $$ while the other is playing cause they busted?. What about prop bets?, Beting on Football games wih other poker players, etc. These are things that occur in Live Poker, in real card rooms and casino's, dont you want Online poker to be more like real Poker?. Not even less than it already is??. LMAO what a dumb idea.
  21. know of people that were already banned for this from bodog/prima sites

  22. What about stopping cheaters? Yea, other things don't seem so important anymore.

  23. I dont know why people are against transfers. With the way things are right now tansfers are sometimes the easiest way to cashout.
  24. this wouldnt stop them

  25. Is there any evidence that transfers are an important part to multiaccounts? IF I was going to multiaccount, I would get a friend to open up a bank account under a different name at a different bank, transfer that money into the site, and try to keep everything as separate as possible.

Just thinking, but I'm sure transfers are reviewed for links between players. Players living close by and transfering on the sites has to raise red flags, and you would think a cheater wouldn't want these connections.

If this would seriously add complications to cheaters, I think this is one time that the good players would need to bite the bullet for the better of the game (just like supermarkets can't afford to run "tabs" up for poorer people, until they get paid, since some people would scam them).
  26. "Just thinking, but I'm sure transfers are reviewed for links between players."

I would bet that they are not reviewed unless one of the community suspects impropriety and reports it.

I would bet anything that snake413 and MATTISBEST accounts transferred a substantial portion of the money that gbmantis won on their accounts back to the gbmantis account.
  27. How about the sites limit the number of transfers per month and the amount not to exceed the buy-in for their largest tourneys?
  28. Eliminating transfers to reduce cheating is what I call Dog Poop Law. I am no longer allowed to walk my dog in the park. The reason? Other dogowners were not picking up after their pets.
We need to address the real problem, not penalize responsible citizens. I do not cheat, I do not multi-account. I do transfer occasionally.
  29. No it wouldn't stop multiaccounting. It would stop transfers on the site between the accounts, and limit the sites' ability to track relationships between possible multi-accounters and/or colluders by investigating their transfer history. There are other ways to move money from person to person. Cheaters are notorious for finding ways around nearly any countermeasure. I personally think preventing transfers would hurt the honest players more than it would deter the cheaters. However, I do wish it was that simple cmac.
  30. tell you like my 7th grade Spanish teacher said: "we all must suffer for the sins of a few..." god i hated that woman...and STANK BREATH TOO...obv
