...it doesn't add to the prize pool.
Tournament at a casino I frequent has a $10 dealer's toke for an additional 2k in starting chips. Obviously this adds nothing to the prize pool but gives you a bit more play.
So do you bite for the extra chips? I'm leaning yes (would give you 100BB to start). -
I'll take as many chips as I can get my hands on.

As long as the tourney buy-in is greater than the dealer's toke, this is a must-do transaction.

Buy-in is 60, toke is 10, it's a $500 added and then I'm sure a certain % is taken from the overall prize pool (thinking around 7% or so).

In every tournament I have ever been to that has this, every player has bought in for the extra every time. So the question is not, "do I want to spend extra money to have a few more chips?", but "do I want to save some money and have less than everyone else?"
