Well Full Tilt just joined pokerstars in banning Washington State players.....Our politicians are such a f*cking JOKE!
"In accordance with Washington State law, as currently interpreted, we regret to announce that players located within the state of Washington can no longer play for real money on Full Tilt Poker.
We would like to assure you that your funds are safe and secure, and you can withdraw as you see fit. Unused Tournament Tickets or Tournament Dollars (T$) can be converted to real money upon withdrawal - please contact wa.state@fulltiltpoker.com for more information."

the only good live games are at the tribal casinos which are the ones who put the most money to push the bill to criminalize online gambling.
-
Looks like I'm stuck playing on UB/AP and all those other small poker sites, at least until they ban me from playing too. This really sucks!
-
Matt Affleck runs REALLY REALLY bad.

Reason: sdfasdf I didnt read the posts but someone beat me to it. -
So what sites can washington donks like me play on still? this is horrible
-
Hopefully the happenings in Washington state will open the eyes of the 98% of online players who sit on the sidelines when it comes to fighting for our rights. Its sad when someone from PPA comes to the boards requesting that we take 3 minutes of our day to forward an already written email to your congressman and within 10 minutes the thread is off the front page and has less replies than a thread discussing your favorite position to pick up AA.
No I'm not saying we are to blame for Washington state passing such an intrusive law nor are we to blame for the power grabbing going on in Washington DC, however sitting on the side, being lazy and assuming someone else will take up your slack doesnt work. So as politely as I can put it:
GET OFF YOUR ASS AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. NOW!

Fulltilt poker followed PS in banning WA players. Cake poker ftw?
-
this is lame....but I noticed one thing diffrent in the FAQ....
If am a resident of Washington State. Can I play for real money at Full Tilt Poker outside Washington State?
Yes. If you are located outside Washington State when you play, you can play for real money even if you are a resident of Washington State.
How is this going to work??? -
Is there any way around it? Can you get a new address location and play with a proxy? Friends from the outside would let you use their mailing address maybe?
This is so fucked up. I live in MN and will help any way I can. -
Yeah, log in from an out of state proxy and try it.
I believe this will work also...about $50.00 per year service....try it also.

pokerstars requires photo ID from a different state, before they will re-activate. If it was just an IP block you could run a PCanywhere type of program, and log on from w/e ip you want.
-
It would appear that FTP is olny blocking IP in state. It's ok if you live in Wash, just can't play from there....stars is different then..
-
Was ok with no stars, am not ok with no FTP, lease up soon. Urbantown, NH and Austin, TX are topping the list atm (dunno where in NH is good). Where am I moving and why? Would prefer no state tax and lots of awesome tree lovers.
-
I just moved to Oregon a couple months ago from Vancouver. They have state income tax but Oregon and Washington are very similar. Basically everything that I can think of that I liked about Washington I have in Oregon as well. Austin may not be a bad choice though. I haven't been there but I was also considering moving there at one point. It had a much lower cost of living than Bellingham. Even though it's in Texas it is a liberal city as well. Bar scene is supposed to be pretty good too. If I had no ties here I would seriously consider moving to UK, Australia, or New Zealand. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Missoula Montana. Nice outdoors place. Cheap cost of living. $100 round trip flights to Vegas. You'll want those when its -50 outside
-
If this is what FTP is doing, why did stars not do this as well? At least FTP will let me play when I'm on road trips, hence I won't pull all my money from them as I did from Stars that just restricted me completely because my account was registered from WA.
As for where to play, I guess we keep moving down the list of smaller sites.
I did the PPA letter writing, and actually got replies from several of the Rep/Senator offices in acknowledgment. The State Senator's email was bull$&!^, I wrote her back with a rebuttal, we'll see if her office bothers to reply again.
I'm in a sporadic email conversation with my State Rep, he hasn't taken a stance yet, but is at least cordial and reads and replies himself.
I'm basically entrenched here, so have to battle rather then just move. Could use all the help I can get! -
