wow stars late registration

    the stars $150 nightly 100k (200k this week) still has registration going on, 11 minutes into the tourney, after 40 players have already busted.

    is this something new? has this been going on for awhile? is it just because they are trying to avoid overlays in all the 2x guarantees this week?

    edit: late registration for this tourney lasted until the first blind escalation. i haven't played this tourney in quite some time, so tell me to shut up if this is old news...

    lol, they did like 4 minutes of late registration for the $55 100k guar tourney, even after like 10 people busted.

    ...and to beat a dead horse, a ton of people have busted in the 10r, and registration is still open.

    and everybody's golden child poster boy poker site, pokerstars, pulls some shady shit.

    I <3333 late registration. Personally I think they should allow registration up until the first break of all tournys.

    Maybe so, but there was no late reg for the $3+R 60K guaranteed.

    Thought there would be for sure. The 27.50 ran at the same time and was reging for 10 min after and the 3 was a no go. Quite gutted, looked decent

    "Late Registration: Late registration is usually available for 10 minutes after the tournament start. However, registration will terminate if all tables allocated at the time of seating are full. In most tournaments, registration closes when the first elimination takes place. In selected events registration remains open beyond the first elimination, up to the maximum time allowed (usually for the duration of Level 1) or until there are no seats remaining."

    this means they can leave registration open as long as they wish. nice rule.

    To me that seems they will leave open until (for this promotion) the 1st of (a) a set time OR (b) the number of tables they start with are full

    So, if they initially seat 8 per table on 800 tables you'd have until max time is up OR 800 people sign up, which would fill the tables to 9 per.

    yes there was late registration for that tourney but all the tables filled up within the 1st 3-4 mins

    i miss old paradise poker. you could always sign up for a SAT 1 min before the break, rebuy and add on and almost always win a seat. oh and the beer and cigar next to you chair was always nice.

    Mupp I respect you as a good player but seriously you are bitching cause stars is allowing for alternates in tournaments where they are DOUBLING the guarantee?

    Maybe somewhere theres a positive in the fact that there are just to mention a few tourneys...

    $3 rebuy 50K

    We'll also be extending registration times until after each tournament starts. This means you can still get in on the action after the start of play, even if other players have already been eliminated!

    I dont think it is shady at all.
    Also im not sure how long they have been allowing alternates but on UB alternates last until after the first blind level in Freeze outs. and in rebuys they alternate period lasts for the entire first hour.
