WPT and PPT logo policy

    Do the sites have to pay an advertising fee to allow players to wear their logos at the final table of the wpt or the televised tables of the ppt? It seems odd to see some players with logos and others with tape on their hats. If the sites dont have to pay, how is it decided who is allowed to show a logo and who isnt? Last question, why was Harrington made to put tape on the green boston red sox hat he always wears?

    Its true. I work with alot of the online sites and Im the one who had to ask her. For some reason she got really upset when I did.

    I'll answer each of the questions in order.

    No. The sponsoring site has to be approved by the World Poker Tour for each season. All the .net sites are required to sign a bunch of affidavits saying they have nothing to do with online gambling. Yeah. Once they are WPT approved it is up to the host casino whether or not to allow the logo. During the UB event last year only UB logos were allowed as they have final say on logos.

    Each approved sponsor has to submit their player list prior to the end of the first level of play. This is done to avoid the bidding wars which take place at the WSOP each year. If you're not on that sponsors list, you can't wear that logo for the event.

    Because the WPT is extremely anal about their logo policy. If they allowed the Red Sox logo without them being approved they would be opening themselves to players trying to wear a "Sponsor X" hat because "it's my lucky hat".
