See Where You Rank in Virginia

  1. Thought it might be nice to start a thread where everyone can post updates on their day if they played, etc, and keep things in one spot.

I had to LOL at this hand reported by PokerNews. I love terrible players.

Dustin Dirksen has done it again. After a player in early position raised to 300, he reraised to 1,100 from the cutoff. Only the early position player called.

The flop came down . The early position player fired out a bet of 500, or about 25% of the pot. Dirksen just called. The turn fell , bringing the fireworks. The early position player overbet the pot for 5,000. Dirksen raised to 11,000 before his opponent reraised all in to 19,000. Dirksen made an easy call holding , the nut straight. His opponent had flopped a set of 4s with , but the board did not pair when the river came .

Dirksen's opponent slowplayed to no pay and is out of the tournament. Dirksen himself now has 47,000 chips after rolling his second gutterball on the turn in ten minutes.

On a flop of , the dealer raised the "All-In" paddle aloft, indicating a player had all his chips in the middle.

Jon "Pearljammer" Turner had his opponent covered. His opponent showed . Unfortunately for him, Turner had for quad queens.

The made things interesting, but the meant we had another first-level elimination. Turner is now up to 37,000.

All the money went in on the turn with the board reading . Luis Velador turned up for a set, while his opponent was drawing dead with the . The river was the and Velador raked in the pot with his full house, increasing his stack to 47,500.

How do you get all your chips in the middle with K9 in the first level of the main event?

  7. MAybe my unwillingness to get all in with easily crushed hands early in a tourney where I start with 100 bbs (10k stack again this year at 50/100 correct?) is why Im still a micro donk.

It's All About Me

Well it's all about Tom Dwan actually. He seems to be involved in over half the hands at his table and is scaring the hell out of his opponents.

In this latest hand he called an opponent's raise from late position whilst in the big blind. He then led out on every street finally getting his opponent to fold on the river.

The board ended up reading as .

He could have made a straight, a flush so no wonder his opponent folded as most random hands would match up bad against that board. Asked to show his hand, Dwan allowed one to be turned over. The dealer randomly turned up the !! Where does that card fit in?

EDIT- sigh, as soon as I posted this he busted :(

    Our First Bit of Controversy

Raymond Rahme and one opponent were in a pot that went to the river. At showdown, the board read . Rahme's opponent opened and "queens and eights" was called. Rahme put his cards face down on the table and started sliding them towards the dealer. Just as the dealer took them and put them into the muck, Rahme grabbed one of the cards back and opened it, revealing an eight. He protested that he had trip eights and that the pot was rightfully his. The dealer told him he couldn't win the pot with only one live card, and with his other card in the muck, there was nothing to be done but award the pot to Rahme's opponent. A floor was called, who made the same ruling. A second floor was called, and then an upper-level floor was also summoned to the table. Rahme has been vociferous in his objection that the pot should be his, but we suspect he is going to lose this argument.

Just before the break a pretty sick hand took place that would've resulted in a bad beat jackpot in many casino cash games.

Jason Thomas and an opponent got it all-in with the board reading .

Thomas' opponent confidently turned over for aces full but it was no match for Thomas' flopped quads with !
