I just watched on Tivo last night and was shocked to see Ivey open with JJ at a seven handed table and fold it to the 3 bet. He is one of the shortest stacks, playing a 7 handed table, and he is folding the 4th best starting hand?
-
Cada confirmed on ESPN's Inside Deal a few weeks ago that Bax put him in the ME.
-
based on the situation i gathered and additional information that we do not have i can see ivey making this fold and don't consider it that bad.. good play on saout's part .. next hand

Didn't read the whole thread, but the high point of the FT for me was Moon telling his wife and friend he QQ.
Then using the following explanation:
"I had Queen-Queen. I put him on Ace-King spades. He always hits those and I'm not giving him 6 million more."
Then his friend nodded his head in agreement.
Then his wife said, "Oh yeah he always hits those."
He doesn't realize that rather than telling the truth about how monumentally terrible he played the hand, he tells a lie that if it were true it would be 50 billion times worse Least that's what I heard/saw.
Edit: Yeah I was close.

Did anyone else DVR this on Directv and get cut off 3 handed? I'm kinda pissed it was set to record 9 to 11 but there was obviously a lot more coverage that I missed.
-
^^ exactly what i thought when i saw it. i thought "wow did he play that hand bad." then he lied and said he had QQ and that was just so much worse... and then he said i think he has AK suited, i bet he hits it... which made it even worse. so painful to hear!
-
Oh no, that was embarrassing...! And his explanation, oh no. This tilts me LOL! How did he reach HU?? Mind boggling!
-
well that laydown doesnt look so bad
-
I'm actually a friend of Cada's but still have to say Darvin is one of the coolest MOTHERFU**ERS I've ever met... When my brother asked him just after losing the HU match when he was going back to work, he said with clear relief "Friday." Followed immediately by my boy Chad jumping in with "Yeah right ur not gonna quit?" and in the coolest hick accent i've ever heard Darvin shot back "Quit? Quit what? I'm quittin poker, this shit is stressful."

Just watched it on ESPN. Is it me or was the play at the final table just ridiculously donkish by both Cada and Moon. Both got it in in huge pots consistently dominated and ended up being the final two. I guess it really does show that WSOP is just a huge luckfest donkament.

cant blame cada for being lucky, but wow joe cada got so rediculously lucky at that FT he made Jamie Gold look card dead
-
Difference is Jamie saw a ton of flops and caught monster hands on those flops and got people to put their money in when he was a huge favorite. Cada got it in as a big dog in huge pots/spots and sucked out. Both ran crazy good.
-
at least from the hands that it showed this guy just fucked licked donkey bag.
he folded winners time and time again. then got it in bad numerous times only to have giant suck outs.
i dont know bout you but i like to see skill prevail. -

You must not be a good poker player, because you don't understand anything that goes on. You are more worried about looking good then playing poker? You sir are a moron. There is no "right" way to play poker. But i am sure you know the EXACT correct to play and everyone else must play the same way. You see a few hands on TV! and you are calling him a fucked lucked donkey bag? Just amazing how dumb you look. Why does it bother you so much that he got his money in bad, it happens it part of the game. He felt like it was the correct play given his image and table dynamics, something you don't know about. You missed the 7 other days where I am sure he played up to your standards. I'm tired of these posts where people are so worried how others are playing. Go watch TMZ or something, i am sure something will catch your attention.
