What kind of serious advice do you expect to get for such a general question?

Maybe give us details about structure, expected field size, your actual live experience...

  6. people will fold AKo from the bb to a 8bb open shove from teh cutoff at the final table.

  7. 10,000 starting chips 45 min blinds, the field today was about 1400 for the 345 buy in and i have no live tournament experience....except for playing in home games.

45 minute blind levels is pretty quick, so I'd just keep in mind as you got deeper into ante's that it's more a turbo than anything, so keep stealing and stay active. gl.
  10. people will generally get it in lighter then you'd expect, so if you got a hand that's pretty strong, don't be afraid to get it in when someone is not going to lay something down(i.e your AK v his Ax), build your stack before those antes hit and steal your way to the final table
  11. 45 mins+10k stack+antes=Turbo?????????????????

The first event at last I heard was 1522+472 alternates!!!!!!!!!!! Thats just nuts. $100k first prize for a $345 buyin live is pretty insane!!!!!!!!!

Also when it gets later in the tourny and you raise and someone asks how old you are, make sure you say 25, cuz then, they shove over the top!!!!!! Happened to me last year. I raised my 1st hand at a new table (had 20k), folds all the way to the BB, I was in the CO, he asks how old I was, I say ummm, 25, "ok" he says, "im all in", I then ask, "how old are you" he says, "older then you", I say, ok, I call and table AA vs his 44 and I win the hand and knock him out. Its a flawless strategy!!!! LOL

    GOODLUCK tomorrow

chill out and bet the hell out of your good hands... live donks will call. Make sure you keep a mental tally in your head of what is in the pot so you don't grossly underbet things.

    maybe he missed a 0, $3450 buy-in
  14. Familiarize yourself with the area where the tourney is being held. Go tonight and scope out where you are starting as far as table / seat, hunt for the closest bathrooms, then find another bathroom that is less likely to get hit on the first couple of breaks so you can avoid lines and crowds.

Either bring a snack and drink with you or find somewhere you would want to grab a quick bite and already decide what you would likely get.

Any decisions you make before you get there take away from things on your mind while you are playing to let you focus on poker. None of these things make a huge difference, but sometimes a small factor such as being comfortable and familiar with your setting can make a difference.

Other than that I suggest a light workout before the tourney and arriving a little early so there is no feeling of being rushed at all.

    Have fun and good luck.

  15. Great advice guys, thank you all very much!!!!

This, as well as having a pretty good idea of the stack sizes at your table. If you only play online these are two things which you're probably not used to doing.
  17. Be friendly and pay attention to people's conversations. They may give you insight on thier playing experience/motivation.
