I went down tonight to sign up for tomorrow's event, hoping to avoid the long lines in the morning. The cage in the tournament room wasn't open. They sent me to the main cage. When I got there I saw 5 cashiers standing there doing nothing. Perfect, in and out quickly. I went to one of the cashiers standing dead and told him I wanted to sign up for tomorrow. He pointed me to the casier at the end. As I walked there I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, around the corner the line appeared, maybe 80 people. Each player had to fill out the paperwork and sign the release, so it looked like about a 3 hour wait. No thanks. As I walked out past the cashiers who were trying to stay awake while waiting for a precious casino customer, it solidified in my mind where poker players stand on the Harrah's totem pole.
On a good note, I ran into this young guy I know who's an identical twin. I can never tell him and his brother apart. I said, "are you Craig?" It was. I won my first coinflip. -
Standard corporate America - not as efficient as we would like to think. Good luck getting registered.

Harrah's doesnt give a fuck about their customers or employees. Worked for that company for like 2 weeks, and heard all the horror stories from the employees.

it was awful. i got there at 4pm to preregister for the upcoming $1500 and $2000 nlhe's, and didn't get out until 6:10pm.
biggest beat? not having my ipod and having to listen to two old guys behind me in line the these awful stories to each other about their cruises. i was so close to suicide. f harrahs. -
damn not getting there until tonight looks like I'll be waiting a long ass time. Does anybody no if they are having a cutoff. I figure if I do it the night before I should be straight, hopefully........wish I preregistered now damnit.

I will be bringing my ipdod thanks for the heads up. -
i got there around noon yesterday. there were only about 15 people in front of me and i was out in about 45 minutes.
i couldn't believe that the registration in the room was not set up. not a good start for them in my eyes.
the other windows should be open in about 40 min -
Sounds like some pretty poor business management...why in the world would a casino want a bunch of poker/gamblers standing in a line when they could sign up faster and be on poker tables paying rake, playing craps, pulling one armed bandits, etc. etc...
