Dear ***** ****,
We would like to thank you for being a member of PokerShare. We are writing to inform you that due to a policy change as of November 1, 2005 North American residents are no longer able to play in the PokerShare cardroom.
We have closed your account, DMFW. If you had a cash balance in your account we have initiated a withdrawal for you to refund these monies in full. Along with your cash balance we have converted any Tournament Entry Chips (TECs) and included them in the withdrawal of funds.
If you are owed money, you will be receiving a check in full for your entire account balance to your address on file. Balances in excess of $500 have been sent by FedEx. Smaller balances have been sent by regular mail.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely
Robert

I don't want my money in the mail 2 months from now. I want it in my Neteller account tomorrow. F this. -
Sweet I get to wait 10 weeks for a check.......I already emailed them demanding a transfer to neteller, but I have my doubts......
-
Oh I forgot to mention...F UB....I am so thoroughly done with them

-

This is a freaking joke. I spent all that time trying to earn as many "Share Points as I can, and ended up spending a lot of money, also because of PocketFives recommendation and how closely they were working with BEANIE and who else ever. I am assuming we won't even get rewarded for the Share Points that we have already earned. this is an ABSOLUTE joke, and the only reason I did it also is because of the Freeroll through Pocketfives which I guess I can't play anymore either. I mean seriously, I think this site just conned everyone...
EDIT
Was referring to pokershare.com in the con job, not pocketfives.... -
It was kind of to be expected, though wasn't it. pokerSHARE means we owned a piece of it. This is of course illegal here in the states. Thank you Alan for your advice to stay away. I wish I had listened.
Glad it is only $290....... -
hmmm..i wonder how much arbirtrary (mahatma) had on his pokershare account...and i wonder how pissed he is.
i hope this is not a scam...i had quite a bit locked up in pockershare...although it does say that they will fed ex cheques to any amount over 500, that should only take a week.

This is exactly why I dont play on UB or Pokershare. EVERY other site is offering new and improved features (Stars Deepstacks, Dise increasing the no. of regular tourneys etc...) and all UB ever seems to do is fuck up and piss off the people who pay their bills! Unreal.
That said I hope all affected by this get everything thats owed to them back ASAP. -
I'm glad I got sick of PokerShare and transferred all my funds over to Stars 2 weeks ago =O
-
i havent received any emails ,that mean im ok???
-
I know this is not the right time to post this, but...
i said at the start of pokershare that something smells fishy and that i do not trust the site, and that is sounds like a big scam to me.
with that said, i have some money on there and im pretty pissed. -
ya my entire rebuild bankroll was on pokershare. I have 600 on prima to work with and about maybe 1300 in neteller. Iam definitly not impressed. That 3500 better not be lost or iam REALLY FUCKED for school.
-
I was able to stay logged on and tranfer my funds back to UB before I got any such email. Thanks for the post guys.
-
I'm still playing on PokerShare...I suppose this means when I log off, I will get the email too? What a load of *
-
Are you sure this is the issue thats caused this Cal? It says in the e-mail that no North American residents can play at all, not just UB customers.
Cashweekly's argument about it being illegal for North Americans to own a Poker site which is effectively (?) what is happening seems more like the cause to me.
Either way these are the elementary details that Pokershare absolutely had to have sorted before they launched the site and the fact that the owners couldn't do this gives me no confidence at all as to their abilities to run a business properly. -
had about a quarter of my roll there... unbelieveable... i can't even sign in to transfer it to my UB account to neteler
-
i was just now able to get into my account on pokershare and withdraw $ to neteller
-
man what a set up, they get around to getting us our free 20 TEC freeroll and the day before they close almost all of our accounts, anyone signed in not from north America auto wins those TEC's
-
Me too. I was playing a couple tournaments on pokershare and read this thread. Luckily I got my money out through neteller.
I still haven't received an e-mail from them and I can still get in with no problems, probably coming soon though.
