Call. His check on the 2 diamond flop with position suggests weakness or a mistake. With less than 20 BB I don't think you should fold the second nuts here. Not when there's so many hands he would make that river bet with that you beat. With the turn giving both straight draws and a single card flush draw he could either be bluffing into obvious weakness or value betting TT or a bare 9. JJ might be in there as well.
You're right, smoothing pre flop was a mistake. It was a near min raise and you had 5 significantly bigger stacks left to act. Play the trap when you have better confidence you won't have any further limping to contend with. Another mistake was not betting the flop. -
Edited By: A_Ewing_AK Sep 3rd, 2011 at 10:34 PMThis pretty much sums it up. Also, that raise was from UTG so your odds of getting paid off on a shove/3bet is much higher than from MP or LP. No reason at all to slow play but, as played, there's no way you can toss the 2nd nuts with your stack and the way that villan played the hand.Originally Posted by MarkH

i don't think flatting pre is a mistake. If you have an aggressive image i'd say clicking it back is better. But if i've been tight i'm flatting for sure. Post flop i don't think there's much you could do..i would be playing it the same way checking the flop betting the turn and calling the river. With 20bb there's not much you can do.
If you bet the flop someone might do something to get you off your hand. But they're most likely just flatting then checking the turn. Checking the flop can't be that bad just as long as you don't check the turn. -
If he was on the button or cutoff, I would CONSIDER flatting... I don't think you can in this spot though because there's no guarantee you'll be able to play the hand in position and the more people in the pot, the less likely your pairs will hold. You just don't know what's going to happen behind you.

Also, your losing lots of value flatting imo. 20bb's is beginning to get a bit on the light side and you don't have all day to accumulate chips
