3years ago i use to win...now i feel like i'm the sucker at the table. past 2 days i got stacked for 10k. i'm really considering quiting cash games online even sngs...and just only playing mtts. (but i'm a winning player when it comes 2 brick & motor ring games)
any winning mtt players get crushed in cash games?
any of u guys vow not to play ring games anymore cause its cost you a Fortune?
are the online ring game players really that much better than brick & motor? -
Lots of winning mtt players get crushed in cash games. They're like apples and oranges in many respects (it's a depth of money thing).
-
News Flash.. Online ring games are rigged Duh
-
First thing I did when I signed up at FTP was ask them to ban me from all cash games- I cant sit down at a single cash table right now, its great (+EV if ya ask me)
I'm fairly decent at MTTs but for whatever reason I'm the fish at the cash table. Havent played a cash table for over a year now so it mightve changed, but I doubt it -
so people winning @ them have rigged accounts or sumtin ?
-
thats what I should do, I hate the cash game tables but every once in awhile I find myself sitting at one just get worked
-
I have ask myself this questions many times in the last 2 years. I have really worked hard on my tourney game during that time but still like to play cash games once in a while for a change of pace. Mostly in part to clear fpp on 'stars' for some sort of bonus. But over thousands of hands I am a break even to slight losing player in cash.

The game is completely different in how we train ourselves to think in MTT's and I really admire the players who can seperate the two and play both profitably. I have a huge problem adjusting to cash and when I do make the correct changes to my game my MTT game goes to sh t. For this reason I have chosen to continue to play sngs and MTT's and have really gotten into the Omaha tourneys lately for a change of pace.
While there are many talented players at both cash and MTT's the reality is, the average cash game player at the 25cent level are mostly better players than your average live cash game player up to 2/4 NL. -
lol @ losing 10k in the last 2 days playing cash. Stop giving money aways and quit playing cash. Or better yet, drop down to 1/2 and learn some fundamentals. You are getting taken advantage of playing the higher limits because you just are not up to par against the players at the stakes you are playing!
-
yes online regs are about 1 billion times better than people that play at casinos....if you don't know that on your own you probably aren't smart enough to be playing cash games.
edit - just saw you cashed for 60K on cake in the last month - GET THAT MONEY IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AND OFFLINE BEFORE YOU LOSE IT ALL TO CASH GAME PLAYERS THAT SALIVATE FOR TOURNEYS PLAYERS LIKE YOU THAT GIVE THEM ALL THEIR MONEY FROM BIG SCORES! -
How did you get stacked for 10k??? You must be playing at least 2-4, which is a pretty tough limit...
Beat 50NL or 100NL for 100k hands and then work up... -
lol 25-50 n 5-10 hu... u really expect to beat these levels bc u donkamented ur way to some final tables?
-
the sad fact is most of you just suck at poker, which is why you play tournaments. your level of thinking doesn't go past "i have ak, im all in" or "i have a flush draw, im all in".
-
With your stats it goes without saying that you know damnwell that tournament play goes a little past "I have AK or FD I'm all in"
-
lol...umm idk i was just taking a shot to test the waters i guess. i think i can become a winning player though...just need to learn and improve my game.

i def prematurely jumped into games expecting something else.
hey if poker doesn't work out i can try and pull the archie karas at craps...lol jk -
10k at 25-50 nl really isnt that much at all.... but uhh yea move down or you'll continue getting crushed
-
easy come easy go u know how they say...
nah two 3k buyins at 25-50...2 1k buyins at 5-10... and lost 2 1k Hu sngs.
never won once...either or i'm pissed at myself for being soo stupid w/ money now.
10k can pay rent for the whole year, or my tuition, or 3 vacations, or....etc.
i need to get past this and stop thinking bout it. -
you want to know the honest truth to why your'e losing at cash games?
you're probably just not good at poker. it's quite easy to win at brick and mortar cash games, the people are beyond awful. you say you're a winning mtt player, and frankly, i just dont' believe you. many people think they're winning tournament players, when in reality, they're down a lot, and just lie to themselves and say they're up, or just look at their wins and assume it's more than their losses. they attribute downswings to "running poorly", when in reality, they're bleeding chips.
if you can't win at cash games or sngs, you need o take a look at your game...i'll bet you find the problem
