I was wondering because I see this sort of this ALL the time and wasnt aware it was against the rules
Hello Steven,
We were recently alerted to chat which you made during one of our
tournaments (appended below). We know that poker players like
to "coffee-house" during a hand – trying to elicit some kind of
response from an opponent that may help them decide what to do. In a
cash game, this is fine. But during a tournament, you may not discuss
your hand (or your opponent's hand). The specifics of this are
outlined in our tournament rule #16:
http://www.pokerstars.com<wbr>/poker/tournaments/rules/
There are also detailed examples at:
<a onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/tournaments/rules/prohibited-tournament-chat/">http://www.pokerstars.com<wbr>/poker/tournaments/rules<wbr>/prohibited-
tournament-chat/</a>
We realize that you may see this exact sort of conversation taking
place on televised poker tournaments. Unfortunately, while this may
be good for the camera, it's not good for the integrity of the event.
The integrity of our tournaments is paramount to us, and we are sure
you understand and agree with that.
We must ask that you refrain from making such comments in the future,
or you may be subject to a penalty and/or disqualification from a
tournament.
We thank you for your understanding and deeply appreciate your playing
here at PokerStars.
Regards,
Trent

Your not supposed to say checkdown even though in all in cases with 3 players most players realize that its a checkdown situation. Im not sure about this one. But I see what you were trying to do..
-
Hmm I think I said something similar last night when I shoved a lot, always leave $1 or $2 in my stack.
Never said it so explicity, but I also told them they had FE, and oh please dont raise on me, etc.
I really don't see the problem with it. Cant believe someone reported you for it -
That's a terrible thing to say during a hand in most circumstances. Like iof a player is all in and you are telling a 3rd player to check it down. But in this case you are heads up trying to discourage the second player from calling.
-
You shouldnt ever say "checkdown". This is completely absurd, I guess this is why people on party think its okay to say "I have 2 pair, check it down" when Im all in.
