Hey fellow p5'ers and mid-high stake mtt'ers im looking for some good mtt reg's to try to imporove my results in freezeouts, its beginning to not just be a coincidence anymore, i am destroying rebuys and getting worked in freezeouts, if anybody needs some help in rebuys, cubes, etc ill definitely trade some strategy with someone with some good freezeout numbers, pm me or drop an aim or msn, thx Metadonk

I've played plenty with you lately, and I can't really offer much except that I haven't noticed anything with your game that should be a problem. Don't know your game that well, but you seem pretty sharp when I've played with you. Just know that regardless of FO's or rebuys, that FTP plays much deeper early than stars. But the structures late are much better on Stars. UB is pretty good throughout. I'm much more willing to gamble early on Stars. Variance is obv gonna be bigger the shorter the stacks are. Honestly, that might be the only issue at hand here. Probably just need to keep plugging away in all likelihood. Gluck

Thanks crazyhorse, that name def rings a bell for sure, i appreciate it, and yeah i do somewhat feel it might just be some variance, maybe running a bit above expectation in rebuy and a bit below in freezeout, i just think i need some good regs advice on how early are they really trying to accumulate, like do you risk an almost certain flip early for your stack, with the potential of having a good stack to work with, i donjt know, maybe im over analyzing as well.

dont recall playing with you alltho we prolly have, but im pretty sure the bolded part is the biggest issue here

in response to elimherr i dont knowe you, and in 5$ poker i find JJ hard to fold when monkeys show up with AT for their stack so much, assuming u had my jj crushed Nh sir. anyways thanks for the responses, i hope someone might be able to post something that translates into the slight tweak between rebuy and freezeout strategy that will help your freezeout game, anyways ty all

Meta, been watching you play for a little while, and seriously, it's got to be variance... Keep up what you're doing, wouldn't be surprised if you continue to blow us outta the water with your sick scores.

I kinda think it's basic stack size differential. Rebuys are deeper so you can wait longer/do more creative things to stay afloat. I'm not a deepstack player but I seem to do better in the rebuys more than other things. Most of the time, freezes are played <30-40bbs while rebuys can be like 60-100bbs for a lot of the tournament. I think basic M or bb strategy is still the key thing anyway. Also, rebuy fields do tend to be smaller than most freezeouts, with the except of the 3r. But after one hour of play on stars, freezeouts are being played 20bbs deep or so, while a good, normal rebuy period you can start with 30-40 already, plus it allows for gambling for an hr.

LOL at me berating ppl in the chat, musta been my brick off sunday u were watching me take beat after beat, i try to keep it classy, but i know we all get out of line once in a blue moon, thx for the response hawk, yeah i mean i think the deeper/slower the structure the more it suits my game, god bless the ppl that crush turbos

Metadonk, what is your strategy during the rebuy period? Are you hyper aggro trying to build a big stack in the first hour and could careless about how many rebuys you need? If so, I'm sure you are entering the 2nd hour of rebuys with a very deep stack quite often, which as you know, is a much different game than a freezeout where stacks are generally more equally dispersed. I dunno, just kind of thinking out loud I guess. Maybe you're especially adept deepstacked and able to leverage that stack to put maximum pressure on opponents where that's harder to do in freezeouts unless you get a couple early double ups?
Edit: Basically the same comment as bef99hwk's above, typed mine while he posted -
This could ofcourse be more then true, sorry if I jumped to conclusions and made it seem like I thought you weren't classy. That def wasn't the point, I've railed some FTs you have been at and never thought you were a douche for any reason. My point was (and again it was prob just that Sunday) that when I see someone bust, and they say something in chat along the lines of berating someones bad play ect, leaves me to believe that deep down somewhere there could be a bit of a emotional leak. But again, everyone does do this once in a blue moon, and it doesn't mean that there is a real problem there. I have too small of a sample size to obv say that you do that every time you bust.

wow just seen that fish call ur 12bb jam with 22 and catch 2 outer on riv. That sucks

I don't know your playing but looking at your stats you are obviously very good. You appear to be knocked out early a bit more often than many stable freezeout players, so maybe you should tighten up a bit while blinds are low?
