1. No fucking way in hell dealers deal the ME, and then wait 3 1/2 months for the FT to finish to get paid. There is going to be one of the most massive protests of all time coming. I will bet anyone that there is a walkout of dealers for the ME
  2. edit: Just read other thread............................................ ...................
  3. Why would they wait 3 1/2 months to get paid?

They'd only be waiting on their tips from 9 players for 3 1/2 months?
  4. from what I understand, they dont pay the dealer the main event tournament downs till after the FT. A girl I deal with said 2 yrs ago they didn't get paid for 2 days after the ME to split up all the fee's they took and the FT tips, which Cunningham left.

  7. terrible idea to run things like this. i dealt it last year but wont be going this year.
  8. huh?..im pretty sure they would pay the dealers before Nov...that isnt tough to change..
but i do see why dealers would be upset about waiting for the tips
  9. I kindaaaaa think Clay would know, seeing as how he's a dealer and all.
  10. ?...really?..are u serious...do u really think theres any chance that these dealers would work the entire main event...then wait months to get paid?...Im sorry but i Kindaaaaa think u should use some common sense...
  11. not to come off like a complete ignoramus, but are casino workers unionized? obv if yes that's a whole nother level of complicated.

edit: i rely on clay in matters like these and anything about the 'real' LV.
  12. They will probably have to call off the main event

  13. There is no union of sorts for casino dealers, although several people have tried, or are trying, to get certain things going. Dave Cicalese, for one, is a good friend of mine that's been in 'the biz' for much longer than I was, that is working on some sort of representation. I've dealt for the WSOP since the ME in 05, and was a supervisor last year. Luckily, I've gotten out of it altogether..but that's not the point.

Each year, Harrah's has done more and more to increase their internal pockets, while going out of their way to stick it to the dealers, and sadly, there's not much you actually CAN do. For every dealer there is actually working, there are 100 more waiting for a spot. Even though there is no way in hell for the ME or any circuit event to have a chance in hell of being put on without dealers, thus making one think that dealers are an integral factor, the fact is - they are treated like crap and that won't change. There was almost a walkout in 06, the day of the seniors/ladies event, and the ONLY reason that the threat worked, is b/c it was a spur of the moment threat, 45 minutes before that day started.

As for delaying the FT for 3 months, personally, I think that is ridiculous on so many levels, but the fact is, if that's what Harrah's decides to do, there's not a gotdang thing the dealers can do about it except boycott working the event altogether, and like I said, there's 100 people waiting for every 1 that is already in.

I won't even go into the stealing/cheating that goes on by the higher ups (making up dealers to collect their final shares/witholding money (from shockingly enough, the dealer pool) for 'just in case' incidences that never occur etc etc.

I'm getting offtrack (and on tilt again for even being reminded of my past 3 yrs....)

  14. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't deal if I had to wait that long to get paid, simple as that!
  15. I heard everyone is gonna have to deal

  17. 2 days is that a joke im sorry but most people dont get paid out on the day they work sorry if you whiny dealers dont like it

3 months is a bit redic however im sure they will be paid for all daYS with tyhe exception of any final table dealings and tips

and LV dealer TIPPING IS NOT MANDATORY
  18. If I final tabled a WSOP where a % is taking out of the prizepool for dealers and Harrahs I wouldn't tip a dime.

If I final table a random donkfest anywhere else I ask the floor if a % is taken out of the prizepool for the dealers. If it isn't, I usually tip 3%.

  19. I think the whole thing is a load of shit. Not just for the dealers but the players and everyone else involved. You play the best 2 WEEKS of poker of your life to make it to the FT, then what? You have to plan another trip to Vegas months later.....I think $$$$$$ is what this shit is all about. Harrah's and ESPN just cant get enough

Wein, this thread has NOTHING TO DO WITH TIPPING......lol @ how any thread with the word dealer in it, turns to a tipping issue. What I said was, it takes a few days after the FT to get paid since there are tips ( zomg yes people still actually tip ) and it has to be split up onto hundreds of checks for every dealer who dealt it.

The problem we're going to run into ( and I 100% guarantee this is gonna happen )....is that tons of dealers come from all over the country to deal, and once they hear about the FT getting delayed.....they just won't deal it, they'll go back home after dealing all the other events, cash games, and just skip dealing the ME.

  26. When you have the dealer button just deal the cards. You already have position on the table so that is the fee for dealing one hand out of every ten...
