Each reply I get builds my hope, seems like all the hard work may be beginning to pay off. Most detailed and, IMO, most positive response I have seen to date.

Dear Mr. Gillis,

Thank you for contacting me in support of H.R. 2267, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, and H.R. 2266, the Reasonable Prudence in Regulation Act. It is helpful to learn the views of my friends and neighbors in Tidewater, and I appreciate having your input.
Like you, I believe that internet gambling lacks adequate defenses to prevent underage participation and protections for those with excessive gaming habits. I understand your concern with not allowing games of skill, such as poker, to be played online and I recognize that millions of Americans enjoy playing poker online or in a casino, each and every day.

The Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act would establish regulations for online gaming companies in order to better protect online poker players. It would prevent underage gambling, protect those who gamble compulsively online, protect the privacy of internet poker players, and prevent money laundering by online gaming providers. The Reasonable Prudence in Regulation Act would extend the deadline for banks to comply with the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), which bans banks from conducting financial interactions with internet gambling sites. Both large and small banks assert that the regulations imposed by this bill are far too arduous for them to accurately comply with. Should Congress consider these or related bills, please know I will make certain to factor your recommendation into the decisions I make.
