Strident Anti-Online Gaming Congressman Bob Goodlatte Takes $40,000 in Contributions From Horseracing Industry
I Got the Horse Right Here ...
Congressman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia (pictured right), one of the online gambling's most strident detractors, is—according to an article on Gambling Web—the recipient of $40,000 in contributions from the horse racing industry. Horse racing has cut-outs exempting it from the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA), and was also slated for exempt status in bills Goodlatte tried to push through Congress in the past.......</SPAN> -
So sick. It was amazing to hear this supposedly passionate anti-online gambling zealot at the hearing so casually defend betting on horses.
It would be interesting to see if he is one of the top receivers of horce racing lobbying money. Also if they lobby him for local issues or if it's mainly for the carve out that he gave them. -

Also, here's the quote box. Click the icon that looks like a stack of papers, go into the new message box, check the HTML box, and type CTRL-V. I prefer copying and pasting the text with quotes and italics (maybe one size smaller). The plus is that you can cut and paste formatted HTML...it has a WYSIWYG editor. -
APCW.org has a good video on you tube showing how Goodlatte played three card monty with the donations as well.

Towards the end of the almost 10 minute video.
He was really creative and I must say, nah, no christian (?) bashing tonight.
