Let's all be sure to participate in the community daily action plan! It is an easy, effective way for us to magnify our individual voices. By organizing, we have succeeded in securing virtually 100% of political social media poker discourse. State and federal lawmakers have noticed!
- Let's retweet & favorite today's action plan HERE, HERE, and HERE, share it on our Facebook walls HERE, and share it via Google+ HERE.
- Let's send today's prefilled tweets to the DoJ asking for action on Full Tilt Poker player remission! HERE and HERE
- Let's send PA Gov. Tom Corbett & MT Gov. Steve Bullock prefilled poker tweets too: HERE and HERE
- Let's make & like poker posts on Gov. Corbett's Facebook wall: HERE
- Please reply in this thread with "tweeted", "done", etc. to encourage others. Thanks for participating!
Reason: Updated with today's action plan -
Thanks Rich - I will be emailing the FSC today from Lithuania. Despite my living abroad it saddens me to see my rights as an American are not the same in my home country as they are living in Europe.

Fight for Poker Rights: Tuesday, May 31st:
Let's start contacting mainstream media companies to tell them to increase their coverage of our important issue. Let's start with Fox News and go from there. Contact info:

- Email addresses for individual news programs: www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,77538,00.html

Let's continue to own a lot of Facebook pages (senators, Congressmen, Congressional committees, etc.):

Good work TE,
Not sure if you are aware of this but a bill was just passed to the IL State Senate to expand BM casino gambling in metro Chicago in a huge way.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/l...,6642614.story
It's expect to pass and be given to Gov Pat Quinn to sign within days. The media is covering it like crazy here. Might be a good time to begin to contact local Chicago media outlets to make them aware of efforts to legalize online poker as well. Since they're covering this story, there might be interest in covering the online poker initiative as well.
tBH, I don't think this bodes well for IL opting in to fed legislation legalizing online poker since bm casinos will even have more power and leverage than ever in IL. My instincts tell me that they will see online poker as a threat to their existing business. I think we need to get going now in IL to grease the skids in the event that federal legislation and regulation ultimately does come to pass.
I know this is a bit off topic so feel free to PM me if there is any way I can help in my home state. -

The newly updated state level PPA pre-written letter is up. As any federal bill with contain some mechanism to permit states not to participate if they don't wish, it's up to all of us to demand that they do!
So, let's all send this letter, plus send the other two if you've not yet done so. Again, these will be updated when Rep. Barton's poker bill is introduced to the House (in other words, soon), so let's all get these new letters out.
Take Action Now and Contact your LawmakerAlso, please encourage friends, relatives, coworkers, your significant other, fellow posters, coworkers, and anyone else you can find to join us in sending these letters to their lawmakers!

Send an Email to Attorney General Holder
Send an Email to President Obama and Congress
Send an Email to Your State Lawmakers
Recurring actions we can take:
Let's continue to own a lot of Facebook pages (senators, Congressmen, Congressional committees, etc.):
Thanks! -
We are getting great traction on Facebook. One excellent benefit is how it shows the ratio of support to opposition for our position for all to see. It's right there in front of the lawmakers' own eyes. Rep. Barton has cited our Facebook posts, so we know it works.
Edited By: TheEngineer May 2nd, 2012 at 06:59 AM
So, let's post pro-poker comments and "like" the pro-poker comments posted by others. Let's divide these up into manageable groups for each day, starting with these nine senators for today:Originally Posted by National Journal
Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, is readying a bill that would make it legal for Americans to bet money on online poker. Barton said he was urged to act via Facebook by many of his constituents who play poker online and were upset by a federal crackdown in April on some online poker sites.

- Sen. Coons: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-...=wall&filter=1
Let's continue to own other Facebook pages, too:
- The House Financial Services Committee's Facebook page is here.
- Let's get some posts on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce page (here)
- The Dept. of Justice's page is here.
- Senators' FB pages: Senator Facebook Listing
- We need lots of posts on the issue of poker and lots of "liking" of pro-poker comments.

Click Buttons to Send Letters in less than 60 seconds:
Send an Email to Attorney General Holder
Send an Email to President Obama and Congress
Send an Email to Your State Lawmakers
Finally, let's recruit others. Our personal recommendations of this effort will go far. The daily action plan takes very little time and there's no denying it's way +EV for the time invested. Once done, please post here that you made the request, along with posting your personal commitment to participate in the action plan.

this is huge for illinois. rahm got it passed and now the idiot quinn is sitting on it. off topic again, but if this doesnt get done, horseracing industry in illinois will die. quinn seems to be trying to show he has some power in this state by sitting on a bill that will give 1.5 billion immediately to the state if passed. so sick and he needs to sign it now

This week is the official start of the August recess for the U.S House of Representatives. Congress is heading home for the month.
While our reps are back home for the recess, let's all call their district offices (click here to find the number) and urge them to support HR 2366, the Online Poker Act of 2011.
You can also urge your Representative to support the bill by clicking here to see if your Representative has a Facebook page. If they do, please take a moment to sign into your Facebook account, click the “Like” button on their page and then post your message asking them to protect your rights to play online poker by supporting HR 2366. You can also check to see if your Representative has a Twitter account by clicking here. If they do, please use the hashtag #poker when sending your tweet.

how bout you contact your buddy over at FTP, and worry about getting our money back first....Im sure you filled his wallet up nicely....

Edited By: TheEngineer Aug 12th, 2011 at 09:00 AMThe FTP issue is not PPA's fault at all. Why would you think that? PPA doesn't run FTP.Originally Posted by laruegg

I don't have a buddy over there. I also have no idea why you think I can get our money back, given that I cannot get my own five figures out. Hell, I was doing this as an unpaid volunteer up until Black Friday, so I don't know whose pockets you think are getting filled.
PPA is doing its part to prevent future stuff like the FTP/UB/AB nonpayment with legislation that addresses the issue directly.

As you may know, U.S. House and Senate leaders have appointed twelve members of Congress to serve on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction. This “super committee" is charged with developing policies to reduce the U.S. deficit and then make specific recommendations to Congress which will be voted on. This is a great opportunity for us to make our voices heard.

Let's go to their Facebook pages and let them know that we want them to take action on the online poker issue! Simply take a moment to sign into your Facebook account, click the “Like†button on the page and then post your message asking them to protect our right to play online poker by supporting HR 2366!
The names with an 'x' in front of them are those who do not allow direct posting on their Facebook wall. No problem for us. Just post a comment in response to a post already on the page. PLEASE BE SENSITIVE about this though. If the post says the Congressperson is being treated for cancer, don’t bother them with poker. Tell them to get well soon. Be sensitive to what’s going on in their state, too – wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, etc. And PLEASE say please and thank you. Courtesy goes a long way.
Oh, and let’s all try to get the bill number correct. It’s H.R. 2366.
Let's all also remember to revisit these walls to like the posts and comments made since your last visit. Thanks!
