    • The blackout date for online poker is still fifteen months. No one will be able to get a license to operate an online poker room in the US for 15 months following the passage of the bill, but operating a room will become explicitly illegal (with new penalties) from day one. That suggests online poker players will be without a room to call home for some time, unless some rooms decide to simply ignore US regulations. Stars and Full Tilt are expected to comply with this blackout period, largely because
    • Stars and FTP can apply for a license on the same day as Harrahs. Earlier versions of the draft contained provisions that would have forced Stars, etc to wait 2 additional years before applying for a license; this provision is apparently not in the current draft. That means US players could potentially have the best of both online poker worlds assuming they can wait 15 months to get it.
    • Actually, its 14 months. Operators such as PokerStars will have 30 days from the passage of the bill to show US players the door (and another 30 to get them their cash back). The timer on the 15 month blackout clock starts on day one, however, meaning players will be locked out for 14 months total.
    I don't think any of us want to lose PokerStars or FullTilt. These changes make this bill a lot better.

    posting things like this, without citing where you got these from...or how recent they are...is really really dumb and pointless

    nothing has been finalized yet...anything you post are simply rumors and gossip, and will simply add to the spreading of these out-dated rumors.
