  1. Rep. Robert E. Andrews [D-NJ], Rep. Adam Smith [D-WA], and Rep. John B. Larson [D-CT] just cosponsored Barney Frank's IGREA, bringing the number of cosponsors up to 44. Rep. Frank says he'll bring the bill up for a vote when he has 50 cosponsors, so we're getting closer.

Rep. Andrews, who voted against UIGEA (as HR 4411) moved from A- to A. Rep. Smith, who voted for HR 4411 moved from ?- to A (I appreciate his change of heart). Rep. Larson, who voted for HR 4411, is already cosponsoring the Wexler bill and the Study bill, so this completes the trifecta for him (cosponsorship of all the bills we have). He remains A rated.

  2. These politicians who changed position didn't magically come to our side. Rather, when they voted for HR 4411, they thought no one supported Internet poker. In fact, many thought we were a free bone to be tossed to the "family" groups. All upside and no downside, they thought.

Fortunately, through the hard work of everyone here, they came to realize many Americans support our position. Opposing us isn't free anymore -- as Rep. Leach found out. :-)

I hope we'll continue to write, call, and do everything else we can to advocate for our rights. We'll keep changing minds, and then we'll change laws.
