1. Both are "illegal" and that still doesn't stop those that do from buying/smoking it or logging online to play the pokahs..

..but if only one could be nationally legalized and mandated in the US, which would you choose and why?

Poker isn't illegal, so even though I don't smoke pot, I suppose I'd have to, by default, chose that option.
  3. I personally think both should be legal. Poker is more of a national/federal issue, where as pot is a state issue. Id say legalize all forms of gambling, then move to Cali or Colorado and get a script to smoke legally.

  5. Didn't you just post this thread last week?... good people, good fathers and good mothers, good daughters and good sons, good brothers and good sisters, are sitting, no rotting, in a prison cell because of a decision to self medicate with a weed that grows everywhere, but none the less, has developed a symbiotic relationship with humans over the course of thousands and thousands of years. And for no other reason than the fact that our government is not adequately insulated from powerful lobby interests. Life, liberty, and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS hu?. But ya, lets be selfish and worry about a game that we play, while good people rot in jail. Ya ya, buzz killington yada yada

Uhh..you do know that people play poker for a living right? Like...their job. Like...that would contribute to this "pursuit of happiness...right? So just lol @ you calling people who would rather see poker regulated "selfish."
  7. Though some states in US that poker is illegal especially online. I prefer to legalize poker, though the supreme court consider poker as a skill of game. Some countries prohibits poker. it will be a great revenue for the government that is why they are pushing the poker bill and online gambling bill.

I don't think poker players are obligated to support other causes. Many do, of course.

  9. This is just a small step, Why restrict gambling at all? The bill should allow for all types of online gambling. Why can't I bet on a football game, if I want to? Why horse and dog racing, but not human races? I should be able to place a wager on outcomes of TV game shows, golf tournaments, jai-lai, elections or the weather if I want to.

The unfortunate truth is that if the bill allowed for all forms of gaming -- and especially if it allowed sports betting -- it would have ZERO chance of passing.

  11. What does not harm me, I'd say, is good for me. With that thinking, I would apparently choose Poker. ^^

Yeah, its still in UIGEA's decision where and when to pass the online gambling, but for now, i have to enjoy playing poker without anything to bother in California since they allow online gambling there.

lol. yeah, but there are some countries who consider poker as equal to a pornography and that's why they couldn't legalize it because they are harmful to any person whose playing it. Some they say its bad for the economy, but if they know, this brings a good revenue to the government.

That's why it's so important for us to keeping tell Congress that we believe poker to be an honorable game.

  16. Your question implies that it is right to bargain for principles. Basic American freedom insists that both should be legal. Stop accepting the principles of compromise. That implies that it is ok to get some of what you deserve based on the fact that someone is at least willing to give you that. Freedom=Freedom.
