We'll take it! Thanks!
Great! Thanks!
Thanks, gjs. It did go well and the car is now squeezed into the garage and I'm resting for several days of payback pain. That's just the way it goes. -

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has been deleting posts advocating for online poker licensing and regulation (and banning the posters who make such posts). As the online poker issue is before the committee, including two recent hearings, I feel this is outrageous and I hope you do as well!
- Let's send the committee an email to HERE (comments@indian.senate.gov) to tell them that we should be allowed to exercise our rights to freedom of speech and to petition the government for redress of grievances -- rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. Let's also send them a prefilled, editable tweet HERE.
- Let's post to the committee's FB wall HERE, and let's like the posts HERE and HERE.
- Let's reach out to the U.S. House Subcommittee for Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade today as well with prefilled, fully editable tweets: HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE. Here's the letter I sent to the committee:
=======================
Dear Senators,
Many people who made posts in favor of legislation to license and regulate online poker to the Senate Indian Affairs Committee Facebook page were subsequently banned from that page. Can you please provide an explanation for this? After all, online poker licensing is a legitimate issue before the committee. You held two hearings on it recently, in fact. I had the privilege of attending the second hearing and the honor of meeting Chairman Akaka afterward (I’m on the right):
I urge you to please allow Americans to exercise their rights to freedom of speech and to petition government for redress of grievances as guaranteed by the First Amendment. Thank you.
Best regards,
Rich Muny -
Your letter worked well, Rich. I am unbanned, and we are all able to post there again. Thanks!
& done for Monday. -
This was all quite surprising to see from the beginning. Rich gave PocketFives a few solid comments for a feature article about the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs issuing ban-hammers:

Following yesterday's action plan (which targeted the Senate Indian Affairs Committee for banning pro-poker posters from their Facebook wall), the committee relented and reinstated previously banned posters! We're clearly being heard here, so let's keep it up.
- Let's post and like respectful comments to the committee's FB wall HERE. Let's let them know the best way to get rid of us is not to ban us, but to pass pro-poker legislation. Let's also mention that legislation is good for tribal interests.
- Let's send the prefilled tweet HERE to the committee.
