I'm hearing we'll get a six month extension on UIGEA, but I don't yet have final confirmation. You all know I wouldn't post it unless I were reasonably sure of my information. I'll post info as it becomes available.
Needless to say, this will wake up our opposition. We need to stay ahead of this. I urge everyone to do the following: call both of your senators and your representative and tell them that UIGEA needs to be scrapped. Info is at http://capwiz.com/pokerplayersalliance/home. Also, I'll write new letters for the PPA's letter to Congress site, so please send in the old one this week and the new one next week. Thanks! -
HAHAHA at the people who withdrew 90% of their online bankrolls

This is all i want for Christmas

Does this mean that there will be new interpretations of the law given to the banks by the federal regulators?
Because if there isn't then the banks will simply continue to deny our ability to cash checks - no matter what the PPA says.
What directly affects us is how federal regulators handle the issue. I seriously doubt they will reissue compliance regulations right after they just told banks to NOT accept any checks from online gambling. -
engineer this is the best news ive heard in a while

I've been in banking for the last 5 years. Banks won't be able to stop it. First of all, small banks won't know where the check came from. Second. If you go to a bank where the check was issued, they will likely still cash them. For instance, Wells fargo/bank of america usually issue checks so just go there so you know the check doesn't bounce.
The "new regulations" would cost the banks millions/billions of dollars to enforce. The government is better off just legalzing barney's laws and collecting the small amount of tax dollars...hwever they'll need to convince the state governments to do the same. -
The news is excellent and all, and obv we want the UIGEA done for...but fyi, the fight will obv not be through after all is said and done with this at the national level...the fight will just move to the state level.
