Versatility is the cornerstone of professionalism

By jdawg0913 - Nov 22 2009, 04:13 PM

Good news and bad news. The good news is I made a good chunk of change this week. The bad news is I stink at 1-2 stud 8. I dont know what it is. I have read and researched. Put alot of time in at that level but I cannot find success. I hate to give up on it but it just isnt working out. Either that crop of regulars has my game down so well that I am too predictable, I stink, or I am incredibly unlucky. I believe it is the first. Some of those regs are really good. I always see them playing and they are always killing it. I send you my kudos! You are worthy opponents. Maybe sometime in the future we will meet again. Until then, my best wishes lol. Here are my results: 10 day goals: (November 11th – 20th)Win 10 bb in stud hi lo cash games   No (ugh!!! -38bb)   Have three consecutive winning sessions of stud hi lo    not even closeWin 1 sng mtt      Nope (lots of seconds and thirds)Get to 14,000 fpps on stars       Nope (12,650)get to 6,500 ftps on tilt         close but no     (6,150)Play 8 hours of cash       Nope (6.5)Play 35 sng mtts       Yes      (48)Make $100         yes (+$335)Stakes: 1-2 stud hi lo, $4-$11 sngmtts (27 man, 45 man, 90 man, 180 man) I took another shot this period. $75 45 man sng. FInished out of the money (17th I think). It was fun. I enjoy playing higher. I like the thrill of playing for a big score every once in awhile. The good thing is I dont let the money change my play. If im taking a shot it means I already made a nice score and am using a smaller chunk to chase a small winfall. Hopefully one of my shots hits and I make a nice but of change. I will keep you posted on how it goes.  As for sngmtts, I have been running really well. (Please dont doomswitch me!) Im up $800 since I started playing them again. I have not had a losing day (yet lol). Im going to try to keep up my volume for these. I wanna put in as many per day as I can. However, with rakeback, cash games might be better. I can earn more rakeback dollars multi tabling cash than multi tabling sngmtts. So for the next months or so, Im going to try to play NLHE (.10-.25) and LHE (1-2) and earn a lot of rakeback that way. If I stink that up, then Ill just focuse on sngmtts then. Like the blog title says, versatility is the cornerstone of professionalism in any vocation. In any regard, here are my new 10 day goals… 10 day goals: (November 21st – 30th)Win 5 buy ins in NLHE cash games   Win 10 bbs in LHE cash games  Have three consecutive winning sessions of cash games Win 1 sng mtt      Get to 14,000 fpps on stars       get to 8,000 ftps on tilt         Play 12 hours of cash       Play 50 sng mtts       Make $200      November goals: (In Progress)Achieve Gold Star on stars   Achieve Bronze Level Iron Man on tilt  Play in one live tourney   Win one Nl cash game buyin or 5bb's in a fixed limit game (LIVE)  Cash out $400 from online  Qualify and play in one major tourney online (any $200 tourney)  Career Goals:(Still going)Win a WSOP braceletWin a WPT tourneyWin a WSOP Circuit TourneyWin a USPC tourneyPlay in a Main Event (any $10,000 buyin)

Good luck and see you on the felt
