$5.20 Turbo Double or Nothings (DON) Goals i guess

Nov 13 2008, 06:42 PM

I previously had to get all my $ off of stars for personal stuff and had about 4400 fpp.  Somehow I luck-boxed my way to a sunday warm up seat (took the $T).  Ever since then I have been grinding $5 DON.

I started 8-tabling then 10 tabled a lot.  I would play the occasional MTT session and mix in these also.  Well I just started keeping track of how i was doing.  I want to play about 1000 and maintain a 60% ITM, which will be about 18% ROI.

I started keeping track at about 250 played and at that point i was at 67%+ ITM and I soon found out that would not be sustainable when I went on a sick downswing.  I had dropped down to about 58% ITM and was starting to question whether these were beatable longterm.  I went and checked my hand histories and found what I thought to be a few leaks that I believe the confidence of running good had brought on.

Right now I am at 424 played and I plan on playing my 1000 then moving up to the $10.40 DON's.  I will try to update this after every few sessions whether good or bad.  If anyone wants to talk strategy for these or just poker in general, hit me up via PM.

so, if your god at SNG's...wouldn't it be better to play normal SNG's? god = ICM Genuis...or play these DoN....i assume these are played to grind a bankroll up or just stop variance?

I am no SNG god, that is for sure.  Don't quite know where you got that from.  I know basic ICM and that is about it.

I started playing the DON's when they came out and ran with em.  I play strictly for fun.  I love the game and enjoy getting better.  I am probably in the minority on this site and would not want to be a pro poker player.  I want to grind up till I can play $20 DON's and thats about it.  Thanks for calling me a god, it made me LOL
