I haven't written an entry in a month. I went back home for a 2 weeks (home=France, living in Beijing). I played a lot during my holiday and a little less since I got back 2 weeks ago.
Online:
I'm running pretty bad. Since I gave up BR management, my roll went from $450 to $50, and back to $150. In my last entry I was wondering if the short handed games were my thing so I tried a little with not much success. Won a couple of 6 max SNGs, but mostly lost. Then stars had the great idea to launch the double or nothing SNGs. They suck for me, I played a massive amount of them in the span of 3 days, and ended up a big loser, mostly due to rake. I probably ended up cashing 45% of them, so I gave up and went back to my favorites: 45 man turbo SNGs.
During my holiday I played a few $6.50 and actually won one to give me some playing room. I moved up to $12s 2 weeks ago and still play some $6.50, and took second in the 3rd one I played ($110). I was surprized though how bad the play is in the $12s. I keep on seeing 3 way all ins PF with A5 vs K10 vs 97o or so, and feel like i'm playing like a nit. So I go deep in most of the ones I play but ended out beeing sucked out on a lot. Actually, in the last 10 of those I played, I only lost once getting my money in bad (KQ vs KK on Q high flop).
I feel I play solid in those, and can't wait to run a little better so I can win/cash in a few and move up to the $27 to see how play is in those.
Live:
When I was in France, I went to play once in the Cercle Wagram in Paris. I played awfully for 4 hours and feel lucky I left with the E200 I put on the table. THe room is nice and on a Tuesday afternoon, there were around 10-15 tables full. I think most if not all of them were 2/2 blinds. I didn't like the play at my table, especially the guy to my immediate left. He was raising every single pot to 14 euro blind! He was def on a heater, he was up a couple hundred when he left. After he was gone I managed to triple up my last 60 when I flop a set of nines holding A9 vs K9 and 2 pair. I win one or 2 other pots to bring myself back to even and go home. Net a very good experience, everybody is playing shortstack and shoving all the time.
In my homegame, things are still going smoothly, we had 2 games since I got back and I ended up a winner in both adding RMB300 to my roll and extending my lead over the other players of the homegame. (http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pB90aNlWBrU3JuKO7UzBBSw&hl=en)
Finally, the club in Beijing is reopening this weekend. We previewed it yesterday with a no rake cash game, RMB 2/4. I played ugly in the 1st few hands, for some reasion I was nervous when I had already played with all the guys around the table. I bought in for 400 and 3rd hand I get AA and blow it when it goes me: raise to 12, him: raise to 30, me: reraise to 80, him: fold. Stupid me. Couple hands later I call a 12 raise with Q10s, flop comes 9JK rainbow. Sweet. p1 Raise to 50, p2 reraise to 150, sweet, I shove ~400, call, call. SWEET! over 1200 pot. p1 turns over AK for top top, p2 show JJ for trips, and I show my nuts. Turn K obviousy and I lose to p2's full house. Damn I hate this game. I Have 150 left after that and add-on 200.
In 4 hours I flopped 4 straits. Lost the 1st one as said above, 2nd and 3rd I make little out of them, 4th I hold A5, flop 234, call an all in to see the guy turn over the same hand. Iend up losing RMB 73, not bad considering I was down 400 1 hour before the end of the game.
One of my friends decided to have his bday in macau mid november, can't wait to go down there and play lots for a whole weekend!
yo!
