It has become clear that I have to quit going for Supernova Elite. I have lost half of my bankroll since the start of this 5 weeks ago, and it is time to move on. I am very disappointed with myself and with the fact that I ran so unbelievably bad at such a pivotal time, I have never been this psychologically beaten down in all the time I have played poker. Nothing much else to say, going back to Full Tilt where the games are easier and I am going to have to start rebuilding at $100NL. I don't plan to blog again so thanks to the people who supported me. So far this month I have been getting my teeth kicked in just about everyday. It is starting to get very frustrating, but hopefully things will turn around soon otherwise I may have to stop going for Supernova Elite. I am going to grind $3-$6 limit for a few weeks to earn some bonuses and then get back to the $200NL games, which are pretty tough now as a lot of players have been moving down from higher stakes to grind at $200NL. I played quite a bit this weekend, and I am hoping to be at 100k VPPs by the end of this week. I have a test and a speech next Tuesday, so I would like to get in as many hands as possible this week to give myself some breething room to take a day or two off to study and prepare.
One of my goals this year, in addition to gettin SNE, was to lose a decent amount of weight, a short term goal being to drop 50 lbs by the time I graduate on May 17th. I have some serious will power problems when it comes to eating so I started NutriSystem, since it is a more structured plan and that is something that I need if I wish to achieve my goal. I started last Friday and so far I am enjoying it, although the first 2 days were tough, I am finding myself spacing out my meals better and eating much better than I did before. Anyone else who has trouble dropping some pounds I would recommend giving this a shot.

I have been playing a decent amount so far this month, and things are going ok. I am taking a break from $5-$10 limit, since I have been getting run down like it is my job at that level. My results at $200NL have been solid but the limit games continue to be my downfall. I know I have an edge in these games, so I will keep playing $3-$6 when the $200NL games are not very good. I am still 10.5k behind my current pace, but I am continuing to chip away at that and will hopefully be on pace by early-mid March. There has been a lot of talk over on 2+2 about the changes that will be made to the PokerStars VIP program this year, you can find the thread here. I think it is rediculous for Stars to take this long to announce any changes, and I am hoping whatever changes they are being put in place make up for how long they have been making us wait. Stars will be starting their 25 billionth hand celebration soon, so hopefully that means a double vpp week, in which case I will be playing 10 hours and will be well ahead of my pace. My first month of the SNE chase went pretty poorly. I got beat up at $3-$6 and $5-$10 Limit, but won a little bit at $200NL even after running below ev. Here are my results for January:
200NL - +$1,544 in 91,907 $3-$6 Limit - -$1,856 in 12,250 hands $5-$10 Limit - -$4,535 in 15,149 hands
I hadn't had a losing month since July of '08, so I guess it was due, hopefully things will turn around this month.
I am going to play a quick session before I start to get ready for our Super Bowl party. I am making a ton of wings, as well as two bacon explosions, so it should be a good time.
Take it easy,
Jeremy
