WSOP 2008
Things had started to look grim for Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little as heads up play continued on towards a record breaking number of hands. Little was able to get 2 big double ups and then win a hand to close the deal and claim the title.
The first double up came when Little (right) had only a little over 2 million chips. He moved all in and Jaffe called with the A
3
while Little had to in between cards with the J
T
. Little his a ten on an all heart flop so any ace or any heart would have given the title to Jaffe. It wasn’t in the cards though and Little doubled to 4.2 million.
Jaffe still had a comfortable lead, and was able to get Little all in again. Jaffe raised to 500k and Little came over the top for his 4 million chip stack. Jaffe called and his pocket eights were the best of it going in against Little’s K
5
but Little picked up a lot of outs on a board showing J
T
2
9
and with the Q
on the turn he made a flush (Jaffe did not have the 8
) and was able to double up again, this time taking the chip lead with 8 million to Jaffe’s 4.3 million.
In what ended up being the last hand of the tournament, Jonathan Little raised to 850k and Jaffe moved all in. Little quickly called. Little’s A
Q
was well ahead of the A
T
for Jaffe and the board did nothing to improve Jaffe’s hand.
After 5 hours of heads up play where the chip lead went back and forth time again, Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little was finally able to emerge as the victor at the Foxwoods World Poker Finals. Jon Jaffe ends up in 2nd place for $670,636.
The victory for Little is his second World Poker Tour title at his fourth WPT final table. He can now add a Foxwoods trophy alongside the one he won at the Mirage in 2007. Little’s victory here brings $1,120,310 to go along with the trophy.

In a heads up battle that has been going on for 4 hours, there have been plenty of ups and downs with both players doubling up on multiple occasions. So far the final blow has not been landed though and Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little and Jonathan Jaffe continue to fight it out for the title.
With the chip counts around 8.7 million for Jaffe and 3.6 million for Little (left) an all in pot came up. Little had raised to 500k and Jaffe called. On the 9
5
3
flop Little check raised all in over the top of Jaffe’s 600k bet. Jaffe called and showed the Q
9
for flopped top pair, but Little’s pocket jacks were better than the nines and held up on the A
turn and 2
river. After the hand Little was back in the lead with 7.2 million to Jaffe’s 5 million, but it wasn’t long before the chips shifted again.
Little had again raised to 500k preflop with the blinds still at 100k / 200k and a 20k ante. Jaffe came over the top with an all in bet of 4.2 million and Little made the call after a pause. When the cards were turned up Jaffe was ahead with his A
J
against the A
3
of Little. The better hand held up and Jaffe was able to regain the chip lead at 8.5 million chips to the just under 4 million for Little.

After Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little pulled back to even and took a small chip lead it wasn’t long will a big pot was in the works and Jonathan Jaffe was able to get back a 2 to 1 chip lead over Little.
Little had raised to 300k preflop and Jaffe called. On the 8
2
2
the action went check check and with the 7
turn Jaffe (right) check raised to 550k after Little bet 200k. Little called and on the 8
river Jaffe led out for 1.65 million chips. Little called the bet only to see Jaffe roll over the 2
2
for flopped quads. After the hand Jaffe was up to 8.6 million while Little had dropped to 3.7 million.
Little bounced back a few hands later and was able to again close the gap. Little had opened the pot for 300k from the small blind and Jaffe called. On the 9
8
8
flop Jaffe checked to Little who bet 400k. Jaffe called and with the Q
on the turn both players checked. The 4
hit on the river and after it was checked to him Little bet 1.1 million. Jaffe called and Little showed his JT for a straight to win the pot. After that hand Little was back up to over 5 million chips while Jaffe fell back to around 7.2 million.
A series of small pots brought the two back to even around 6 million each yet again, and Little was able to pull out to a 2 million chip lead after winning a pot with a 3rd bet on the turn. In a pot where Jaffe limped in preflop and Little checked the flop came 8
7
3
and Little bet 250k. Jaffe called and on the turn the 7
hit. Little again bet, this time 500k and Jaffe made it an even million to go. Jon Little put in another raise to 2.5 million and made a believer out of Jaffe who folded his hand. With that pot Little jumped back to the lead with 7.3 million while Jaffe saw another chip lead vanquish as he dropped to 5 million.
After getting all the way up to 7.8 million in chips, Little again saw his gains go away as Jaffe was able to double through Little to again take a 3 to 1 chip lead. Little had limped in from the small blind and Jaffe checked. On the A
9
2
flop the fireworks hit as Jaffe led for 375k and Little moved in over the top. Jaffe snap called off the rest of his stack and showed his A
2
for top and bottom pair while Little tabled the J
T
for a flush draw. The T
on the turn also gave Little the chance to make trips on the river to win the pot, but the J
that hit gave him two pair, but left Jaffe with the bigger two pair and the winning hand for the double up to 9 million chips. Little was left with around 3.3 million.

After getting down more than 3 to 1 in the chip counts, Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little has rallied and gotten back even in chips, currently sitting with a very small chip lead over Jonathan Jaffe.
In a pot where Jaffe limped in and Little checked his option the flop came K
7
4
. Little bet 200k on the flop and Jaffe made the call. Little bet 350k on the 5
turn and was against called. With the pot growing the river came the Q
and Little checked over to Jaffe. His check induced a bet of 260k and Little then moved in over the top for and additional 1.7 million. Little had started the hand with just over 2.7 million chips and once Jaffe made the call the pot in the middle grew to 5.5 million.
Jaffe had the J
7
for a pair of sevens, but Little had flopped two pair with the 7
4
and got a big double up to get him back up in the chip counts. After that hand Little was down about 1.3 million in chips but over the next 15 hands the two went back and forth at about 6 million each with Little recently taking a lead of about 200k over Jaffe, which is basically a tie with the blinds at 60k / 120k and a 15k ante.

Heads up play started just the way Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little wanted. He was able to pick up a few key pots and build a chip lead of 8.7 million to Jonathan Jaffe’s 3.6 million without any major all in showdowns. Then the two did end up all in and Jaffe had the best of it to double his 3.6 million to 7.2 million and retake the chip lead from Little, dropping him down to 5 million.
In the third hand of heads up play Little (right) was able to win a pot to bring the chip counts to even at around 6.2 million each. He then continued to trend upward and take the lead after he opened a pot for 200k, Jaffe raised to 725k and Little moved all in. His all in move forced Jaffe out and put Little in the lead with 6.8 million to Jaffe’s 5.5 million.
In another pot Jaffe called a raise preflop of 200k and then called every street all the way to the river for bets of 300k and 500k, and when faced with a million chip bet on the river of the Q
8
6
J
2
board Jaffe finally gave up his hand and Little saw his stack rise to the 8 million mark.
A few more pots for Little and the stacks sat at 8.7 million for Little to 3.6 million for Jaffe and Little seemed to be in total control of heads up play. One quick double up turned things around though, and Jaffe was back on top. Little had raised to 200k preflop and Jaffe called. On the J
9
6
flop Jaffe check raised over the top of Little’s 300k bet to 950k. Little moved all in and Jaffe instantly called. Little had flopped top pair with his J
T
but Jaffe had flopped top two pair with the J
9
. The A
on the turn gave Little 3 more outs on the river, but he didn’t hit an ace or a ten and Jaffe was able to double up.
After the double Jaffe took the lead with 7.2 million to the just over 5 million in left in Little’s stack. Things continued to go well for Jaffe and he was able to win another large pot of Little to increase his lead to 9.2 million to Little’s 3 million.
Jaffe had opened for 190k with the blinds still at 40k / 80k and a 10k ante. Little called the raise and on the J
4
4
flop checked to Jaffe who bet 250k. Little called the quarter million and again checked to Jaffe on the T
turn. Jaffe bet 750k and Little called. With the K
on the river Little again sent the action to Jaffe and he bet 750k. Little called and Jaffe showed his J
9
and the paired jack was enough to get Little to muck his hand, giving a 3 to 1 chip lead to Jaffe.
