• I donked it up today.

  Well....let's see. Yesterday was pretty good. I won a Stars NOHL Rebuy and came in 4th in the UB 33 Rebuy. I was chip leader when a key hand came up in that. 6 handed UTG min raises....now, this guy is raising like 24% at FT so I figure 77 is ahead most of the time here. I could just call and play in position, but I'd rather raise him and just take the pot, there aren't that many good flops for 77. So I 3x him and SB shoves. UTG insta folds and its on me. I put 24k in and the pot with the shove is 100k and its 40k to call. I'm getting 2.5 to 1 which is great odds but this guy has to have a higher pair, maybe AK, AQs. So I almost fold but decide to play the math and he tables KK. I still don't know if I made the right call or not. Today I donked it up. Starting with the FTP 75 6 Max. I register late and my 2nd hand I complete with AQo in SB. Flop comes A,8,9 rainbow and I check, BB checks and one MP limper bets pot of 90 into 90. I see that he is already down to 2500 from the 3k stack. So what is he betting pot with. I put him on one pair, J10, air, or bottom 2 and he is playing them fast. Since I'm ahead of that range. I raise it up to 270, he calls fairly quickly and turn is 4 rainbow. I bet 400 into 570 for value and he min raises me...what? I think he is feeling it out and has an ace. I insta shove and he insta calls with AKo. Well I would have folded to SB there in an unraised pot with no history on the guy with just top pair. But again I don't know this guy so who knows if he can fold a hand or not. I could have checked called down for pot control but it seems like I should be building pot for value. Then, I played well in most of my tourns but once I made ITM I started getting really reckless and blew some nice chip stacks. I busted out 10th in Cake OHL Rebuy, 8th in FTP OHL Rebuy, 18th in FTP PLO KO. And Final two tables in FTP PLO Rebuy. So, I don't know. Lots of deep runs I'm doing something right just couldn't seal the deal today. And I think maybe I should care about moving up a little bit ITM but I'm pretty reckless in trying to accumulate chips going for 1st. Boom or bust and today was bust. I got a DELL 30" Monitor and used it for the first time today. Was able to keep all my games on the one monitor but I'm not used to it yet. I'll give it a week. No Comments on this post. • A tale of two days.....picking off a bluff in PLO

  If I were writing this blog last night I would have been on cloud 9 as the saying goes. I made many deep runs and 4 FT's including first place in the FTP 33 PLO Rebuy. That netted me 3.5k and I FT'd FTP and UB's 11 PLO Rebuys. I had big chip leads in both but came in 4th in both at the end of it for 800$ profit total. I made 400$ or so in other tourns so I probably netted 4k ish for the day which may be my best day ever I'm not sure. Would be close.  Well, if I played well yesterday I started on tilt today and just ran like death. Deep in the FTP 11 Rebuy I hold AKJ7dd and see a flop of Q,10,5 dd. WRAP FLUSH AND NFD and we get it all in and I brick out. UB 11 Rebuy I limp AA22 and limps around and BB makes PSB, I reshove his PSB and he strangely just calls. I say strangely because 2/3 of my stack is going in pre so why not stick the rest in? Any he hold AJ10x and flops the 10 and shoves, I call, and he turns 10. Oh, one more bad beat was FTP 75$ PLO 6 Max. I love this tourn and I raise it up with AQ89dd and get called to see a flop of Q,Q,2dd. GIN!!, only 22 and Q2 have me and I did raise pre so those are unlikey holdings, anyway, ends up going all in and guy called my raise pre with QJ92 and it held. Ok, no more bad beat stories. Some strategy from my PLO 1st place victory..... I limp 6543 UTG and we see a flop 4 way. Flop is K,9,4 rainbow. It checks around and button bets 1/2 pot. Now I've see this guy make PSB with 2 pair type hands. We are deep stacked and although I don't know what he has now it is a small pot so far and if a 6543 comes (11 cards will make this happen) I will have either trips or two pair and a up/down st8 draw. I elect to call and turn makes it K,9,4,5 giving me bottom two pair and up/down draw. I check and again he bets 2/3 pot, 1200 into 1500. The pot is getting bigger now. 2700 and 1200 to call. What does he have though? I think mabye a naked K or something like QJ108? Either way I think my two pair could be good now but it is bottom two, I'm out of position and I'll take some pot control and just call. River makes it K,9,4,5,A and I check and he makes PSB. This makes it 3900 to go. I've certainly got myself into at the 100/200 level here. Now, he bet 2/3 on flop and turn and then PSB on river? So I showed weakness on all streets and he expects me to call a PSB on river? Why not take me to value town one more time? Looks like he has a busted draw/bluff here. I call pretty quickly and he shows down air. Then he starts ranting "how could I call that?" "there was a st8 possible" blah blah blah and I just told him I thought he was bluffing so I called. • Making an update........

  Well. I've been playing some good poker and limiting my mistakes. Although I haven't gotten any nice scores for it. I've run gross at the wrong times. I made 2 big mistakes today out of many hands. I played so well in the FTP 75$ 6 max only to money bubble lose two races AQ vs 1010 and 99 vs AQ. The Cake 55$ I had my AA cracked by QJo after he made EP hard raise and I reraised big with AA. I guess there is no folding QJo OOP to a 3bet from MP when u play on Cake. Hmmm. FT'ed the FTP PLO 11 Rebuy only to bust 9th. I lost 4-5 hands AIPF when 10-12 handed and got there as shorty and made a move with 5678dd. Any good news you ask? Well, I feel like I'm in the zone and making the correct play 99/100 times. I also won 4 satties today in major tourns so I had a profitable day just felt like it could have been more. Maybe I play tomorrow, maybe not. Gl all. No Comments on this post. • Played some great Omaha today.... 1st,1st,2nd

  I actually played some good holdem as well but was just coolered. Cake 33 Rebuy - Late in tourn I raise QQ on button and SB reraise, I shove he tables AA for 30k pot. PS 22 Rebuy - Mid/Late tourn, EP raiser, two flatters and I have AA in SB, I shove and folds to button who calls with AK. He flops the nizzles and I lose a 33K pot UB 33 Rebuy - MP aggro raises and I decide to flat in position on button with AQcc and shorty in BB squeezes. Aggro reraise iso all in. Normally I fold here but because it is a particular player I call and unfortunatley he has AK. PLO: FTP 11 Rebuy - Playing great and running good and I limp EP+1 with AA107 double suit. Limpers all around and Lee Watkinson makes PSB from the BB, folds to me and I reraise PSB. He tanks and shoves to show QQJ9 double suit and he gets a runner runner two pair. Then, plenty of chips later I call a MP raise with KJ1010ss and we see a flop of 8,2,3 ss and he checks to me. I half pot it and he reraise. I decide to shove on him with 10s and 2nd NFD (he is aggro, a player dependent shove here). Anyway, was correct to see him table 8776 no spades. Just fade a non spade 876 (5 outs) but no!! Anyway, GG me. UB 11 Rebuy - Took first place. Nothing to note except I got paid off a lot and people couldn't fold their draws. OHL: FTP 5 Rebuy - Made FT but busted 7th when my AK25cc lost to QQ108dd when he limped and I raised PSB and saw a nasty flop of J,9,6...he makes PSB. I only have 16k behind now and there is 44k in pot so I hate the flop but feel I have to call. Well, no AK or runners for a lo and I'm out. FTP 44 OHL - Took 2nd place. Busted Scott Clements for a t-shirt in 3rd place. Then I misplayed two hands HU. First was I limp 74610hh and BB raise PSB. Flop is A,2,3cc. He min bets. I love this flop because I feel I'm freerolling. Only a 45 is a lo that beats me. Anyway I call turn is 10, he checks and I bet 12k into 27k. Well now he makes a PSB. Either he has 45 or he has strong draw/trips/aces up and doesn't think I have 45. Anyway, instead of letting it go I shove the rest and see him table AQ45. Now he has 2 to 1 chip lead on me. I chip back up to almost even and then mistake two. I limp QQ58dd and flop is 3,3,9dd and BB checks to me. Nice flop, I min bet and he reraise 5bbs. My min bet was meant to induce a raise bluff out of him but I'm torn between him raising a diamond draw/air or a 3. Well I shove and he tables J3810 for flopped trips. No Q, diamond, or running los for me and I bust 2nd. I did pick off a bluff earlier against this guy and that is what made me more inclined to go with these two hands I mentioned. Well, my mistake, hopefully lesson learned. PS 5 Rebuy - Crowning achievment of the day. Beat 441 runners out for the 1.2k and first place. I made one HUGE bluff with 50 or so left. I raise A1082 and the table bully (only guy who has me covered) defends from his blind. He always defends and plays aggresive from wherever his position is. Anyway, flop is Q,10,3dd and he leads 2/3 pot. I have middle pair and back door lo draw. I call and turn is 3. He makes 2/3 pot again quickly and I call again. River is 3. Now I'm playing A10 and the board 3s. He makes big bet 46k. So 150k approx in pot and I have 100K behind, If I shove the pot will be 250k and only 50k for him to call. I don't know if he realizes that and I don't think he is very good. Also, I may have just counterfit his Q or he was betting a st8 or flush draw that never got there. So I shove and he thinks for a few seconds a folds. Tempted to show my hand but not a good idea to do that. I may have had best hand. But I wanted to fold out small ppair and better A's. Anyway, I played well enough and got HU and AIPF with KK75dd vs AQ32cc and I scooped the guy for first! No poker tomorrow, my girlfriend and I celebrate our 10th (yikes!) anniversary dating.
