• Took the day off...

  Been a frustrating week of poker. I'm probably up a little bit so it could have been worse but none the less I needed today off. I was definitely chatting inappropriately and going a little crazy in PLO8 ring games and some MTTs. Losing control pops up from time to time for me. It's more infrequent now than in the past but I obviously still need to work on it. Aces: I've had little success with AA and have been running into them a lot. The worst was the Stars 55$ Rebuy.... 45 paid and 46 left. UTG raise, button reraise half his stack. I hold AA in the BB and shove it. Button calls with QQ and spikes it on the flop. Instead of a top 8 stack I'm gone. I don't even make the measly min cash, next time I'll "Stall 101" it and then shove, just in case :). Aces: Cake's new 109$ Deepstack. Only 53 runners and 10 paid (WAT!). 4 handed UTG raises and I shove J9o in BB (I have him 2 to 1). He snaps with AA, okay. I chip up and again I'm chip leader. Same guy raise UTG and I ship over him with K10o in SB. He snaps with AA again. 4 realz? Well I haven't got AA all tourney and now I'm HU with a different guy and he raises his button. I finally get AA and shove it and he snaps with QQ and flops a Q. Real. I have learned something this weak, the hard way twice. I was deep in the FTP 33R (Final two tables) and stars 162$ 50k (Final two tables). FTP rebuy I raise in CO with AKo and button 3 bets it. This is easy reraise and I'm not 4 bet folding so I shove it in. I mean I'm opening in a steal position near FT and he is re-stealing OTB right? Wrong, he tables AA. In the Stars tournament I raise in LP with AQcc and button 3 bets me. Again, just from the situation I think he could be raising me wide and re-stealing near the bubble. I shove and he calls with AKo. For some reason after I OPR the guys and they are both big time losing players. I should have OPR'ed them before I shoved (oops!). Anyway, if a bad player is 3 betting you deep near a FT, he has it, just fold. GL all...... 1 Comments on this post. Click here to post a comment.




• Bah Poker.....

  I'm pissed at poker for the last 3 days. Just haven't been going my way. I'd say 80% of it is me losing standard flips/outdrawn and 20% is poor play (for example I get my AA cracked AIPF at one table and then I'll instantly shove over a raise on another...not good....) So today I tried to play it cool and I'm happy with how I played almost every hand. The one play I question today is this: FTP PLO 6 Max $216 Blinds 20/40 approx 5k stacks I raise J1098dd, two callers Flop K108r giving me bottom two, up/down draw, I bet 2/3 pot and one folds and button calls. Turn makes it K1084dd giving me the flush draw as well. I check to him and he makes 2/3 pot and I shove PSB. I doubt he is flatting a set on the flop, that would be redonkulous. My raise is so huge that I think he has to fold top/bottom or whatever draw he has. Anyway, he had naked K10xx and was 60% to win on turn. I think my play is okay, I guess his call is okay, I certainly could have just called as the price was easily right and check folded if I missed. I might post that one on 2plus2. Stars PLO $215 AIPF AAxx < AKKx Stars PLO8 $215 AIPF AJ25 < A235 (min cash) FTP 50$ Rebuy Chip leader with less than 3 tables but...... AJ < 77 (30bb pot) K10 < QJ (25 bb pot) AJ < Q10 (25 bb pot) Bust 17th..... Oh yeah, FTP 75$ PLO 6 max sattie HU 3 times the guy was it behind and won to hang around and then faded my str8 and flush draws in last hand.... • Ups and Downs of an online Poker Player

  Saturday I play well enough but bust out of most tournaments. However I am HU in the PS 55$ Cubed and chip chop for 6.6K. Of course after that I lose the HU match, everytime I chop on Stars this happens. Not that it matters but it makes my OPR and P5's rankings worse off. I'd say there have been 6-7 times I chopped as chip leader and lost after and one time I chopped as chip leader and won. (This includes my WCOOP FT which is 19K less in profit because the chop is not reflected). Whatever, what matters is the money. Sunday/Monday off. Tuesday: Playing poker and at two FT's and internet drops from storms, I'm blinded out of the AP 55 Rebuy and make 1.2K somehow (Disconnected 8 handed and 8th was 350$). I manage to hit Starbucks down the street and log into Stars for the other FT. I take 1st in the $109 PLO8 for 2.5k. Wednesday: God is wish internet was down. This is the worst I can ever recall running with AA/KK in a day. Let's see what I remember. FTP $75 AA vs J4  on QJ37 board, AI on turn river J FTP $109 Rebuy AA vs Q9dd BvsB, I raise, flop KJxdd, I c-bet , raise, reraise, all in, river 10 (was vs IM ICM who cracked my AA AIPF on Saturday for 80bbs with JJ) FTP $33 Rebuy AA vs KK AIPF, Turn K PS $33 Rebuy AA vs KK AIPF, Flop K (Happened right before the FTP hand) PS $162 KK vs AA AIPF, (no K for me?) There were 2 or 3 more but those stick out. All were for big stacks as well. Tilt/Stars U owe me NOW!! My only cash today (1 of 19) was $33 HORSE, 4th place $432, even my bustout there was bad BvsB 310dd vs XX Flop 1045dd, capped flop Turn 10456dd, capped turn and I'm AI with top pair/flush draw/open end str8 draw (like a freakin PLO hand almost), he tables 109o and holds. • Spewy Day 2

  I'm back on the web for good now. Worked yesterday and got spewy. I guess I'll post my worst one as a reminder of my bad play. FTP $129 KO.  We are ITM. UTG (VPIP: 18 PFR: 16) makes it 3x to 3600. MP Shoves 9.8k OTB I hold QJdd with 29k Ok, so about 16k in the pot with blinds/antes/raise/shove. My thinking was it's a good spot to squeeze, 9.8k to win 16k and if i lose I still have 20k which is fighting chips. I have no reads on UTG and from the stats (30 hand/small sample) he isn't a nit and isn't aggro. A full 3x is a lot of times 77-JJ or AK so if he does happen to call I'm racing and we have FE (he has same stack size as me). I don't know typing it out doesn't seem to be a bad play. Maybe I'll post this hand on 2plus2. Let's see what the people say..... But yeah, I was spewy I think besides that hand. Losing day. Off today. No Comments on this post. Click here to post a comment.
