FTOPS HA - Starting 5k in chips, up to 6k.....
I limp KKJ6cc UTG and folds to BB (who doesn't seem to play well) and he 3x's OOP and I call. Just watching him play I figure my KK is ahead but I'm okay with small ball here, I'll take a flop in position. Flop is Q,10,5cc and he makes PSB. I have overpair and up/down st8 draw and 2nd NFD so this seems like a good spot to shove and I do. Almost a worse case scenario to see him flip AQQ5cc for nut trips and NFD. I only have 8 outs. I might post this hand on 2+2 but to see how people would play it but seems like a good ship. Down to 12 bb's I make PSB during holdem with AJ and BB wakes up with AK.
FTOPS OHL - Starting 5k in chips, up to 10.5k, average is 7k, moved to new table....
Folds to SB who raises PSB and I call with 5223cc. Not a great hand for OHL but in position BvsB with 100bbs I'll call and play poker. Well I asked for it, flop is K,2,K flopping me a boat. He bets 795 into 940 pot. It looks like he has the K, but not AK2. Anyway, I'm 60% to win with suckerboat, I could just call down and be conservative, but I make PSB for 2 reasons: I don't want to flat call if he has QQ,JJ or anypair and let him fill up on turn and he can't fold AK and I'm favorite to win, although not a huge edge. Anyway, he reraises and I know I'm up against AK and stick the rest in, he is only guy who has me covered at table too, sick. He tables AK58, I have one blocker on him, giving him 9 outs total. If he turns A I will have lo draw, so I really need to fade 6 cards, case K, two 5's, and three 8's. Turn is 8. Puke. He scoops for 22K pot (which is a top 20 stack for tourn). I was only 51% to scoop and 61% to take hi. Wish that hand held because the field was really soft in general.
FTP 75$ 6Max - A good run but I bust in 12th losing my only race of tourn. Button raises 3x and I have 77 in BB. I take 15 seconds and shove 30k (I'm 11th of 12). He has me covered by 4bbs so if he calls it's for his tourn. He calls with KQcc, flop Q and I'm out.
Cake 33$ Bounty - Played well/ran well and made two key mistakes. A bad player makes UTG raise and I flat in position with AQo. Flop is A,10,5 rainbow, he checks I bet half pot. He calls and turn is K, he leads out for 2/3 pot. Now this guy is a bad player, I should recognize at this point, he is not bluffing here because of the hands I've seem him play, he doesn't have the balls to fire a barrell like that. Anyway, I know he doesn't have AK or he would check raise flop most likely. I shove and he tables QJ for the gutshot miracle hit. Then I'm down to 4bbs, I go on a sick run and end up at FT as chipleader. I lose JJ to A6 and AK AIPF (had them easily covered) lose 88 to AJ. And here is my worst play of the day. I raise in LP with A6o and button calls (has been calling all my raises in position at FT) so I'm putting a wide range on button. Flop is A,10,9 and I bet 2/3 pot and button calls. Ok, turn is 8 putting two dd out now. I check and button bets halfpot. I think of shoving here, this person had been potting made hands, seemed like a feeler bet. Instead of playing aggresive and going with my instinct I call and river is baby diamond. I check and get put all in. I think a while and I know I should fold here but I don't hink button has Ace, because no raise pre or on flop. QJ maybe? I feel like it's QJ or 10x. (Not A10,109 though because he would have raised that flop how he was playing). My gut says fold but I just donk call and see J10dd for runner runner flush. I bust 5th.
I feel like my NL is picking up again. The thing about these NL and PL games is you can make good decisions on the hundreds of hands you may play in a tournament but play one incorrectly and you can lose your tournament because of it.
