Well, I busted 48th of 1000 plus runners. I played well enough and
made just a huge mistake toward the end. I raise with AKK3 in EP and
get flatted by a guy who loves to flat and BB comes as well. Flop is
K,J,6ss. Now I have the naked A of S. Normally I C-bet this half pot
(pot was 41kish). That would be 21K and I would have 33k or so behind.
Basically committing myself to it. I say "normally" because for some
reason I guess magnitude of the event and my excitement level I decide
to check when BB checks to me. This is way to timid a play I think.
Button checks. Now turn is 8, board is KJ68ss. BB checks and here I
check again! Why? Am I happy to get to a cheap showdown? Yes. But then
it gets worse. Button decides to bet 25k at 41k pot. I tank for a
little, I can't put him on trips/top two or he would have bet flop for
sure, I feel that if he turned trips a PSB is in order on that board.
So is he bluffing? He is either bluffing or has something like J98x
KQ98 or J109 semi bluff. Well I decide to call here and the pot is now
93k and the river is 7. Board is KJ687, no flushes. I check and he bets
25k again. I feel that he doesn't have J98x as that has showdown value
there and only a better hand is calling. He is either bluffing or hit
his st8. In retrospect, given I could go either way on him I think its
a call for my tournament life. 115K pot and I have to call essentialy
my last 25k (I have 32K actually). If he made a st8 or value u towned
me with K8xx so be it. Only good play was the preflop raise. Terrible
flop/turn/river. Well, I had 32k after that at 2500/5000 level. That is
why the turn call was killer. I would have had 57k which is definitely
playable for me. I am very good short stacking PLO but 6bbs has no FE
and I'll have to get lucky. So I wait until the big blind is on a guy
who is tight and has the same amount of chips as me. I hold A468hh. I
like shoving with this in this spot because. I need to gamble, and
people will be calling me wide and sometimes the A high wins strangely
enough. I also feel I will be called by bigger pairs and my cards
aren't part behind KK-JJ type stuf. Well, the SB flats it and BB folds
flop is Q,9,4 and SB puts me in I call my last two BBs. I don't know
why he didn't raise it pre to put me in the BB was short as well and
did he really want to go 3 handed? Anyway he tables J,10,7,8 for the
st8 draw. He is 58% to win and does. That hand is really irrelevant but
the AAK3 hand was the key one as that is what left me short. Oh
well....in some sick news....
I played only two other tourns so that I could focus on FTOPS HA. The UB PLO Rebuy and FTP OHL Rebuy.
UB . I hold AA84ss in SB and it limps around and I just complete.
Then the BB min raises OMG WTF IS THAT? So everydonk limper calls the
min raise. Now it gets back to me and the pot is big enough where I can
make a PSB and get 1/4 of my stack in pre and have some good fold
equity. So I do that and get donk called by 3 players!! LOL. Anyway
flop is AJ5cc so I flop da nutz. I make PSB and all 4 of us are all
in!! The donk in BB has KQ55 for bottom set. Some other donk has AQ37
(OMG!) and the last donk has J1068 (OMGWTF?) No one has a flush draw.
I'm feeling pretty good!! Fade the case 5 or the 3 remaing tens (4 outs
to quadruple up!). River is a 10 and the donk is now the chipleader by
a wide margin and I'm out. Sickness....but in my other tourn
FTP OHL - 19 left of 150ish and its hand for hand. I am in BB
shorthanded and UTG limps. Flop is K,7,2cc and i hold 7734. Nice. I'm
looking to check shove my trips but the UTG guy checks. Turn is 2
giving me the boat. I check and now he makes PSB. Oh yeah....he has A2
most likely. I raise PSB and he shoves. Well, he must have K2 then
unlucky for him. I shove the rest and he tables Ak2x. He needs the case
2 or two of the remaining Ks. Well the K comes and I'm busto. Sick.
Anyway....I think I'll play the OHL fix limit, I don't know. We'll
see, I was winning a lot of satties in that until last week I just kept
getting outdrawn by fishes. But there will be so many fishes in the sea
of FTOPS that it should be worth playing. Ok. Thats it.
