The title describes my attitude during yesterdays play. This sometimes happens after I have big winning days like I did on Thursday. I just get careless. It was a losing day but instead of being down 1.2k ish for the day I cashed in the SCOOP PLO M for 850$ after putting 415$ in. I made one big mistake in this tournament and it was running a bluff on a guy who doesn't fold. I misplayed the hand the whole way so I'll describe it to hopefully teach myself a lesson.
I have nice 25k stack at 150/300 and make UTG raise 3x (6 Max BTW). Button, who is one of chip leaders is tourn and a station reraises me. I hold AK67 double suit for two strong FDs. Normally I fold this because I'm building a big pot against a guy who has me covered OOP. I can't explain why I called, maybe because we were so deep stacked and I felt this guy would pay off anything. Anyway, my first mistake I call. Flop is KQJ rainbow and I check, he checks. Turn is a 5d putting two diamonds out. I check and he makes 2/3 pot bet. Now, based on the hands I've seen from him there is NO way he has st8. I have watched him play many pots as he is a station and he never checks his made hands. So I make PSB of 11k and he tanks for a bit. Again, my thinking is he has seen me play tight and actually flat call made nut hands verse others so it is very well possible that I have the str8. But again, I should have let go right there or just flat with top pair and check/fold to a strong river bet. Anyway, he calls. Puke, now there is 22k in the pot and for some reason I bet 4k. I felt like if I shoved my last 9k and got called I was busto. And of course my bet was screaming for a call so it my look like a str8 wanting a call. But with his stack size he can afford to call loose even with bottom two pairs type hands. It's only good for a blocking bet against a busted Q10/K10xx hand where I would have difficulty calling off all my chips if I checked to him on river. Anyway, I got in this trouble by calling the reraise pre and the PSB bluff on turn. I went from 25k to 5k, I did stay aggresive and got up to 12K and ITM but I really cost myself with that hand. Lesson learned hopefully. Anyway, I was just to reckless in general yesterday and that is a prime example of it. Last example:
FTP 216 PLO Weekly. I limp UTG with QQJ4cc and button raises from 30 to 90 which is obiviously just a baby iso raise and since we are 5k stacks at 15/30 if I PSB him back I have to hope for a fold, so deep that won't happen and I'll be player a larger pot OOP. So I call and flop is QJ9 rainbow. I flopped nut set but two hands beat me. I check and he bets 2/3 pot. Now, normally this is a call here for me. I have 9 outs to pair the board. For some reason I raise, which kind of turns my hand into a bluff. I'll only fold out weaker hands and obviously get called or raised by str8s. JJ and 99 come along but I hold a J as well. Anyway, he calls and turn is baby card. I bet 2/3 pot 1230 into 1600. He shoves on me and I just snap call it since half my stack is in there already and he tables K10xx. So I donk it off right away in this tourn. Alternatively, on flop he bets 150 into 190 and I call. Turn he bets 2/3 I call which is another 350. And river I half to pay off another 500-700 if I check call again. This way I lose 1k instead of the fucking whole 5k. And that's only if I call river. Like I said I just donked it up. Anyway, I'll be back. Maybe a little tonight but skipping the SCOOP HORSE because my girlfriend is out of town and I gotta keep and eye on my dogs most of the day.
