The Rankings Update article from two weeks ago, “P5s Mod Flirting with Top 5 Status,” is no longer speculation; it's reality. The Triple Crowner known to the P5s world as apestyles (pictured right) has moved up two spots this week to the 5th position in our World Wide Rankings. Ape has had a very successful month of September with four cashes over $10k thus far, and is seated 9th in our Monthly Leader Board. Last week showed promise of a higher ranking when he took a 3rd place on Stars at the beginning of the week in the Super Tuesday, picking up $35k. To finish off the week, he took another 3rd place in their Sunday Warm Up for $29k.
Another top 5 Triple Crowner, Annette_15 climbed a spot this week back to the 4th spot in our ranks. Her best finish of the week came in the Stars $100 rebuy on Sunday, where she took 4th place and more than $13k. She also final tabled the Full Tilt 45k rebuy the day before. Annette’s 2nd rank in the Pro Polls also helped in her jump back to 4th position, and she is currently 9th in the Yearly PLB for 2007.
SCTrojans (pictured left) had a huge week and jumped a spot to #9. All nine of his recorded cashes from last week were final tables, and he started these cashes with a bang by taking down the Full Tilt 55k for $18k on Wednesday. Two days later he went the same direction, winning another Full Tilt tournament for $16k more. Sunday was by far his best cashing day as he final tabled four tournaments, including a $14k cash in the Sunday Warm Up and a 3rd in their $200 rebuy for another $25k. This resulted in a total of over $46k for the day with the addition of his two other final tables, and it helped him to his current spot at the top of the monthly PLB.
Ch0ppy took the biggest leap of all top 25 members this week with his four place jump to #18. His 2nd place finish in Full Tilt’s 1k Monday provided for $59k in cash and 401.32 PLB points. ComeOnPhish also had a week with several final tables. His best finish came in Tuesday’s 2nd place finish in the Full Tilt 55k Guaranteed for over $11k. Thursday brought him three other final tables, which came in the Stars $50 rebuy and $100 rebuy, as well as an Absolute 10k Guaranteed, all of which combined for about $10k more.
Allinstevie and AJKHoosier1 come in this week right beside each other at 28th and 29th after hopping seven and five places respectively. Stevie took down an average of $10k on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday when he took 2nd in a $50 rebuy on Stars, 1st in a Full Tilt 32k Guaranteed, and 2nd in the UltimateBet $75k Guaranteed. Hoosier was able to final table four times this week, including two 2nd place finishes and a win in a Full Tilt 20k Guaranteed rebuy for a total of $16.5k for the week, helping to bring him to the 7th position in the Monthly Leader Board. SowersUNCC continues his upward direction this week with another six spots up the rankings, aided by four final tables and a win in the Absolute $10k Guaranteed.
Ship Happens, Roothlus, and Asiandude7 (pictured right) finish out the big climbers in the top 50 this week in positions 39, 40, and 46. Ship Happens mainly stuck with Full Tilt last week for his paydays and took two 2nd place finishes worth more than $23k combined. Roothlus final tabled the Stars Super Tuesday and took home $11k for his 7th place finish, while Asiandude7 placed 2nd in the Stars $200 rebuy on Sunday for $38k.
Two other Triple Crowners making leaps and bounds of their own this week are Bond18 and Duece2High. Bond was able to win two tournaments this week, but his best cash came when he took 2nd place in the Full Tilt 55k Guaranteed for $12k. Duece2High’s week was highlighted by a win in the Full Tilt 45k Guaranteed rebuy for close to $16k on Saturday, and he managed to take five other cashes the next day on Stars and Full Tilt.
JBDenaro157 won a $50 rebuy on Stars last week worth more than $14k and ended the week with an ever better cash of $23k for his 6th place triumph in Full Tilt’s 750k Guaranteed. SN8WMAN and Matthew “All In At 420” Stout both had big enough Sunday finishes in the same 750k to boost themselves up 12 and 11 spots respectively this week. SN8WMAN’s 5th place finish was worth $31k, while All In At 420’s 7th place was good enough to earn him $17k. Stout was also able to cash for $11k in Full Tilt’s 55k Guaranteed on Monday.
Three PocketFivers coming into the top 100 this week are mmmmmbeeeer, gator93 (pictured left), and HIGH FLUSH. Mmmmmbeeeer took the biggest leap of all top 100 p5ers, jumping 34 places to the 67th position after he placed 2nd in the Sunday Million for $97k. He also placed 2nd two days before in the Full Tilt 55k Guaranteed for 9k. Coming in at #96, former top 5 player and multiple Triple Crown winner gator93 had a big Sunday, placing 5th in the Sunday Mulligan and chopping the the Bodog 100k Guaranteed for a total of around $30k. High Flush won himself a Stars $100 buy in to start off the week for $13k, and he finished off the week at the 99th position.
