Rankings Update: Moorman1 cracks the top 20

By MattW | Published Nov 15 2007, 11:56 AM
In this week's rankings update, moorman1 (pictured) made a significant jump into the top 20.  He has had 6 final tables in only 7 days and his total cashes last week exceeded $28k.  Some of his scores included a 6th place finish in the PokerStars Sunday Second Chance, a 5th place finish in a Stars $100 Freezeout, and 4th place in the FullTilt $15k Guaranteed.  A great week for Triple Crown winner moorman1 allowed him to move up three positions into 18th.

The top 50 saw a good amount of activity since the last update.  Improving seven spots is another Englishman, stevie444 (pictured right), who is now ranked 21st.  He had an impressive seven cashes last week.  Ok, so maybe seven cashes in as many days is not that uncommon, but consider this: all seven cashes were final table appearances (and his nine cashes before that were also all FT's).  Now THAT is impressive.  His largest score was in the FullTilt Sunday Mulligan for $25,665.  Additionally, he won two tournaments: one on UltimateBet (Bounty $20k Guaranteed) and the other on PartyPoker ($18k Guaranteed) for another $12,619.

The next player acting up in the top 50 is t soprano (pictured left).  He came close to a massive score on FullTilt last week when he took 7th in the $750,000k Guaranteed.  His finish was still good for $17,255.  Coincidentally, he almost had a large cash on PokerStars as well when he made the final two tables of the Super Tuesday but ended up getting 17th.  His efforts place him in 24th, which is five better than where he was last week.

Jumping 13 spots and into 35th is allinstevie.  He had two 5-figure scores last week, both of which were wins on FullTilt.  The first was in the $32k Guaranteed for $11,363, and the second was in the $55k Guaranteed for $19,950.  He also made two other final tables.

Asiandude7 had a strong week as well, final tabling four tournaments.  His largest score came via a win in the FullTilt $20k Guaranteed Rebuy for $7,412.  His other three final tables gave him an additional $12,818 in earnings.  He improved by seven and is now 37th in the rankings.

Chipsteela (pictured right), who has been on an absolute heater lately, seems to have picked up the pace....if that's possible.  He had 12 cashes, including 8 final tables, last week.  One of these was a healthy 5-figure score worth $31,058 on FullTilt, where he took 5th in the $750,000k Guaranteed.  He also had a win in the FullTilt $20k Guaranteed.  His other cashes added up to over $13k, which at the end of the day means that his week was worth around $50k for him.  Chipsteela moved up two spots for every $10k he won and is now ranked 41st.

The last three players advancing in the top 50 are shaundeeb, Deuce2High, and x2then.  Shaundeeb has consistently been in the updates over the past several weeks because of his propensity to put up scores on a daily basis.  He made another 6 final tables last week, totaling over $18k in cashes.  This moved him up 8 and into the top 50, where he is now 45th.

Deuce2High (pictured left, Pwnasaurus on Stars) had two big scores last week, taking 2nd in a PokerStars $109 Rebuy and 6th in the Stars Super Tuesday.  The two combined for over $40k and boosted Deuce up 8 positions to 47th.

Finally, there is x2then.  He also had two 5-figure scores last week.  The first came in the FullTilt $1k Monday, where he finished 6th for $15,600.  The second score was on Stars, where he got 3rd in the $320 NL tournament on Saturday.  This 3rd place finish earned him another $10,266.

In the second half of the top 100, there are plenty of players making big moves.  The first is basebaldy, who rose 11 spots since the last update and now sits at 55th.  This large jump was mostly facilitated by a score he had in the FullTilt $750,000k Guaranteed.  He won $41,411 for 4th place.  He also placed 5th in a Stars $109 Rebuy for another $8,478.

DuckU (pictured right) also moved up 11 and is currently ranked 71st.  Last week, he placed 3rd in the FullTilt Sunday Mulligan for $16,313.  WhoTheHell, who has been mentioned several times now, improved by the same magic number and is ranked 73rd.  He took 2nd in a PokerStars $109 Rebuy for $19,968.

The two largest jumps in the rankings were executed by JasonGray (pictured left) and Bill Ivey.  JasonGray had a magnificent week, amassing two 5-figure cashes.  The first was in the FullTilt $1k Monday, where he took 3rd for $37,440, and the second was in the PokerStars $15k Guaranteed, which he won for $15,930.  His impressive results pushed him up the leader board and into 74th, 17 places better than his previous ranking.

Bill Ivey also had two 5-figure cashes.  One was in the PokerStars Super Tuesday, where he finished 5th for $18,438, and the other was in a Stars $109 Rebuy that he straight up owned for $43,700.  Last week, Bill Ivey was missing from the rankings, but this week he came barreling back in at 77th.

Nutstr84444 (pictured right) continues to rise this week, picking up ten spots and sliding into 87th.  He made three final tables since we last talked about him, including a 2nd place finish in the FullTilt $32k Guaranteed for $6,683.

In addition to Bill Ivey, three other players also smashed their way into the top 100.  These three are Pokersavage1, Cmoney3, and zrc11.  Pokersavage had a week to remember.  He took 2nd in the FullTilt $1k Monday, 2nd in the FTOPS Event #4, and 3rd in the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand.  This amounts to more than $102,951!  I have a feeling this Pokersavage will be rising quickly in the following weeks, but for now he is 94th.

Cmoney3 had a week that included 3 final tables and a total of $21,820 in cashes.  His largest score was in the FullTilt $55k Guaranteed, where he finished 3rd for $9,281.  Cmoney is now 98th.  Zrc11 has been flirting with the top 100 since his win in the FTOPS Main Event last August.  He cashed for just over $10k last week and is now 99th.
