This week in the rankings three players have improved their positions in the Top 10. SCTrojans has continued his quest to attain the number one spot and now only has one place to go. A big win in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed last week for $25,000 helped him get closer to M8kingmoves (pictured right). SC and M8king are also one and two in terms of PLB points, so this should get real heated in the next week or so as SC tries to take Batista's status as the #1 Stunna.
Mr. menlo (pictured left) moved up two spots from last week and is now ranked 5th in the PocketFives World Wide Rankings. This kid is straight ridiculous--what else can I say? Last week from Oct. 7th - Oct 14th he cashed for over $194k. I can't even begin to describe how impressive he is, and the sickest part is that it doesn't even come as a surprise. He took 1st place in the FullTilt $750k Guaranteed for $132,788, followed by a 2nd place finish in the PokerStars Super Tuesday for $50,801. I know we mentioned menlo's FT win last week, but it deserved to be mentioned again as he continues to perform. I would now like to formally apologize to the rest of the players in the rankings update who have to follow these scores.
If anyone is worthy of such a task, PearlJammer (pictured right) is surely one of them. He is a world-class player as well as a great guy. He is up one this week and now #8 in the rankings. In the last few days, PearlJammer came close to winning the $530 buy-in $75k Guaranteed on UltimateBet. He went out in second and received a nice payday of $12,000. On the same day, this Triple Crown winner went deep in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up.
In the Top 20, only two players moved up. The first is AJKHoosier1 who rose 3 spots and is now 15th. I like this kid's game a lot, and he had a spectacular week (understatement) cashing for over $107k. He won the PokerStars $215-Rebuy for $57,475 and took third in the FullTilt $1k Monday for an additional $37,920. The second player on the rise is SowersUNCC, who is now ranked 20th, which is also three spots better than last week. He had a score on PokerStars for almost $10k in the $25k Guaranteed as his run continues into October.
The Top 50 had some big movers, none of whom come as a surprise. First on the list is JohnnyBax (pictured left), one of the only players who is truly respected by all (minus those who get Baxed daily by 7d9d). However, it wasn't respect alone that catapulted him up 5 spots this week. Instead, it was a 4th place finish in The PokerStars Super Tuesday that earned him $26,195 and an outright win in the UltimateBet $75k Guaranteed for $21,195. Another great week for this on-line poker icon.
Kenny Rap, Stevie444 (pictured right) and Elmasmacho continue to climb the rankings in this update. Kenny had another impressive week, cashing numerous times and winning a $109 Freezeout on Stars for $10,900. He is now 38th (43rd last week). Next, we have Stevie444 who really imposed his will last week. He had 5 solid scores including 3 wins. The first win came on UB in a $20k Bounty Tournament. The next two he got on the same day, one in the Stars $25k Guaranteed and the other in the Tilt $25k Guaranteed for a total of over $16k. This facilitated his move up 5 spots into 41st. Player Elmasmacho improved 6 spots into 43rd, and is still riding his two huge scores in November that totaled for over $164k.
The last two players splashing around in the Top 50 are Believer82 and Mr_BigQueso (pictured left). Believer82 had a week filled with medium but solid scores that add up to more than $22k. He made five final tables, including the FT $1k Monday. He is now in 47th. Mr_BigQueso, who has become a favorite on PocketFives had a profitable week that included a 5-figure score. This score came in the FT $750k Guaranteed where he captured 5th place and $31,514. Queso also had over $8k in additional cashes on Stars and Tilt. This week he sits at 49th.
In the second half of the Top 100, five players improved considerably, including one player gone Hollywood. The first is not the Hollywood star, but a star nonetheless. LUHMAN jumped 14 places into 63rd. He had his first 5-figure score of the month in the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand, winning $29,506. This talented player has been attracting big scores lately. Next, we have none other than agriffrod who we all know went Hollywood some time ago. He took a big step up rising 20 spots into 69th this week (so appropriate). A few days ago he took down another hefty score on Stars winning the $215-Rebuy for $63,690. His Hollywood status is safe for now.
Brynkenneyps1, Gotskillz and Basebaldy (pictured left) are the final three seeing significant progress in the rankings update. Brynkenneyps1 advanced 10 spots and now owns 76th, at least for now. He had a win in a Stars $109 Rebuy for $38,748. Gotskillz who has been around for awhile, also moved up ten spots and is currently 81st. He had a very nice score in the FullTilt $1k Monday taking 2nd and $50,560. Last, but definitely not least is Basebaldy. This Triple Crown Winner is being talked about more and more, and deservedly so. He also had a win in a Stars $109 Rebuy taking down $44,975. He is now ranked 84th rocketing up 17 spots and into the Top 100.
In addition to Basebaldy, two other players have made their way into the Top 100 this week. These players are RandALLin, and HIGH FLUSH. It was only a matter of time before we saw RandALLin in the rankings. He had a win for over $22k last week in a Stars $109 Rebuy and is now 98th. HIGH FLUSH who is best known as Lordhutty on Stars, comes in at 100th with two final tables since the last update.
This past week was truly impressive with huge scores coming from all directions. Check back next Thursday for all the latest news on the PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Rankings.
