This week's PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Rankings features a jump up to the #4 spot by Jon "PearlJammer" Turner (right), who has reached 29 final tables so far this year, with five of those being wins. His first place finish earlier this month in the PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand earned him a paycheck of $33,700, as he continues to benefit from his poker talent and business-like work ethic.
Also moving up in the Top 10 this week were Russell "rdcrsn" Carson, who is now ranked #5 in the world, and Danny "THE__D__RY" Ryan. "THE__D__RY" enjoyed a 3-spot move up to #6 this week on the heels of his 2nd Place finish in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series Event #12 for $170,000. The $300+22 6-handed NLHE rebuy event had 1,361 entrants.
Moving up three spots to #17 is Garrett "GBecks" Beckman (left). At 23 years of age, Garrett has already established himself as one of the premier online players in the world, winning the FTOPS Event #5 for $102k, the PokerStars Wednesday Hundred Fifty Grand for $48k, and the PokerStars $25k Guaranteed for $19k. Mr. Beckman is followed in the rankings this week by "Kenny Rap," who took down the PokerStars $215 Heads-Up tournament on February 10th for $13,800. Kenny is up five places to #23 in the world, and shows no signs of relinquishing his momentum as he moves up the rankings.
PocketFives.com Triple Crown winner Shawn "phatcat" Luman is on fire this month; having won the Nightly Hundred Grand, placed 2nd in the Wednesday Hundred Fifty Grand, and won the $100 rebuy, all on PokerStars. Shawn is all the way up to #27 this week thanks to his awesome results for the month of February. Up to #30 is Brian "SN8WMAN" Hawkins, who has put up impressive online tournament results for the past year. "RandALLin" (right) is up 12 to #35 after picking up steam in the past three months. Randall won the Full Tilt $50k Guaranteed in January for $21,500 after placing 3rd in the Sunday Brawl a month earlier. He's had ten final tables so far in February, including a 2nd Place showing in the UltimateBet $75k Guaranteed tournament.
"GhettoFabolous" has moved up 20 to #39, as he crushes the competition this month. After his January victory in the PokerStars rebuy, he took first in the Full Tilt $65k and final tabled the FTOPS Event #10. Phil "USCphildo" Collins is up nine to #47 after winning the PokerStars $100 rebuy on February 21st. "Asiandude7" is now ranked #48 in the world after taking 2nd in the Sunday Second Chance for $32k earlier this month. Josh "pbdrunks" VanDuyn (left) has stormed into the Top 50 this week after winning the PokerStars $1k Super Tuesday for $71k. He also has wins in the Full Tilt $55k Guaranteed and $25k Guaranteed tournaments in 2008.
Christian "charder" Harder and Andy "BKiCe" Seth are ranked #55 and #56 respectively after making huge jumps in this week's rankings update. Christian won the Full Tilt $1k Monday for $80,750 and final tabled the PokerStars $215 rebuy on back-to-back nights this past week, as Andy kept pace with over $120k in high-stakes including a 4th Place finish in this month's FTOPS. Russell "rcrane082985" Crane (right) is now ranked #60 after taking down the PokerStars $100 rebuy for $44k and cashing for $24k in the Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan in February.
Evan "PURPLEPILS99" Parkes has also had a great month of February, taking down the Full Tilt $32k Guaranteed and finishing 2nd in the Nightly Hundred Grand. Evan also won the Full Tilt $1k Monday on New Year's Eve for nearly $42,000. PocketFiver "bhanks11," who plays by the name "usourcek" on PokerStars, made online tournament headlines with his victory in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $278,000. He's joined the Top 100 this week at #68 in the world. Well known forum poster "mattg1983" (left) moved up ten spots to #69 after winning the PokerStars $100 rebuy on February 23rd.
Thomas "titantom32" Braband (right) has moved up 19 spots to #70 this week as he continues to prove his poker ability with results. Tom won the PokerStars $1k Super Tuesday last month for $72k, and won the $20k Guaranteed last week for $9,100. He is followed by "stpauli111," who has enjoyed a nice rankings boost from his final table appearance in the PokerStars Sunday Million. "Roothlus" Adam Levy continues to climb the ladder and is currently ranked #72. Adam has a 4th Place in the Full Tilt $1k Monday, a win in the $32k Guaranteed, along with a 2nd Place finish in the $65k Guaranteed - all within the past 30 days.
"BigRiskky" is now the #82 ranked online tournament player in the world after moving up 11 spots this week. New to the rankings this week is "xxjondxx," who won the Ultimate Bet Online Championship Event #10 for $41k in late 2007, then followed that up with a win in the PokerStars rebuy on New Year's Day and a 4th Place finish in the $1k Super Tuesday this month. PocketFiver "Paesano" enters the rankings at #90; having won the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up for $112k on February 17th. PocketFiver "potroast" (left) is new to the rankings at #92 upon final tabling the Full Tilt $300+22 for a score of $62,400 and the PokerStars $215 rebuy for $20,700 this month.
"TheFitGuy" earns a spot in this week's rankings at #97 following his victory in the FTOPS Event #10 for $214k. "ChuckSty" has five final tables in the month of February and enters at #98, while "lyerly" rounds out the Top 100 coming off his victory in the PokerStars $55k Guaranteed.
