All About the Absolute Poker Satellite Blowout

By Dan | Published Jun 30 2007, 11:54 PM
Absolute Poker has received some major press on PocketFives.com lately and it’s well-deserved. Two weeks ago, we announced that Absolute Poker was included in the PocketFives.com Online Tournament Player Rankings, making the Absolute’s major tournaments extremely valuable for PocketFivers looking to jump up in the rankings. Now, PocketFives.com is hosting the Absolute Poker Satellite Blowout this Sunday, June 24th, at 2:00pm ET. PocketFives.com is adding a whopping 25 $216 seats to the regular prize pool of the tournament. The seats will be for the Saturday, June 30th, $150,000 Guaranteed Tournament only on Absolute Poker.

The Absolute Poker Satellite Blowout is a $3 rebuy tournament, which means you could conceivably win a $216 seat for less than the price of a gallon of gas. This is an excellent value for PocketFivers looking to cash big for a small investment. The seats awarded are for the Saturday, June 30th, $150,000 Guaranteed Tournament, which Absolute Poker actually holds each week. The site just bumped the guarantee in their marquee Saturday tourney to $150,000 (It was $100,000). Everyone starts with 5,000 chips and the first place prize is over $30,000. The tournament runs at 4:30pm ET each Saturday, but the seats awarded in the Absolute Poker Satellite Blowout, again, are only for the Saturday, June 30th tournament, so clear your calendar.

Here’s what else is going on at Absolute Poker. Sundays feature the $60,000 Guarantee tournament at 8:00pm ET. The $162 buy in makes for a grand prize of over $10,000. Like the $150,000 Guaranteed tourney, each player starts with 5,000 chips. There are a ton of satellites for the two weekend tournaments, so plenty of opportunities exist to win your way in if you don’t win one of the 25 added seats this Sunday. Other tournaments on Absolute Poker include a $50 buy in, $10,000 Guarantee at 8:00pm ET Monday through Saturday as well as a $16,000 Guarantee, $30 rebuy at 10:00pm ET each night. Absolute Poker guarantees over $1 million each month in prizes.

Absolute Poker just finished its Dream Package promotion, which awarded one lucky player with buy ins to the World Series of Poker Main Event as well as several World Poker Tour events. In addition, the winner of the Dream Package, GENTLEMAN8, won a trip for two to the 2007 Aruba Poker Classic this Fall and a season pass to the $150,000 Guaranteed tournament each Saturday. Qualifiers for the fourth Dream Package are currently underway. To win your share of this phenomenal value, you can enter one of several freerolls, real money qualifiers, or Absolute Reward Points qualifiers that are going on right now. More details are available in the Absolute Poker lobby. You can also just buy your way into the Dream Package Main Event on August 5th for $216 if you don’t feel like qualifying.

So mark it down: The Absolute Poker Satellite Blowout takes place this Sunday, June 24th, at 2:00pm ET. We’re adding 25 $216 seats to the $3 rebuy tournament. If you don’t already have an Absolute Poker account, click here to get started: Absolute Poker.
