DoylesRoom, Bodog Poker Promos Coming This Weekend

By P5s Staff | Published Jan 30 2009, 12:00 PM

This weekend features a pair of innovative poker promotions that PocketFivers can take advantage of. Saturday marks the start of promotions for DoylesRoom in its new home on the Cake Poker Network, which accepts players from the United States. Doyle’s Room is offering its first weekly $100,000 Guaranteed tournament on Sunday with a buy-in of $162. Meanwhile, Bodog is gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday by adding $20,000 to the prize pool of its weekly $100,000 Guaranteed. Coupled with high-stakes tournaments that players will regularly find on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, these promotions will ensure a very busy weekend for the online poker community.

As previously reported on PocketFives.com, DoylesRoom is headed to the Cake Poker Network. Doyle Brunson, the 10 time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and site’s namesake, commented on the reason for the move in a press release, "We wanted to offer our players a rewarding place to play and the liquidity and integrity associated with the Cake Poker Network made this an easy choice for our new partnership.” On Saturday at 5:00pm ET, Doyle’s Room will play host to a $5,000 Launch Party Freeroll. Players must download the new Cake Poker software in order to participate in the completely free tournament.

Sunday, February 1st will mark the first running of the $100,000 Guaranteed on Doyle’s Room. The tournament comes with a $162 buy-in and begins promptly at 5:00pm ET, just minutes before the start of the 2009 Super Bowl. On Sunday, February 22nd, Doyle’s Room players will be able to partake in the $250,000 Guaranteed tournament. The price tag for this marquee monthly event is $268 and the tournament is held on the final Sunday of every calendar month. Cash, gold chip, and freeroll satellites are available on Doyle’s Room for both the $100,000 and $250,000 Guaranteed events if the buy-ins are out of your budget.

On Wednesday, the weekly DoylesRoom Bounty kicks off at 9:30pm ET. The event offers up to $25,000 for ousting pros from the tournament. This is your chance to play alongside Brunson, his son Todd, and the “Mad Genius of Poker” Mike Caro. The buy-in is $27.50 and Doyle’s Room will refund your first tournament entry regardless of whether you cash. If you knock out Brunson with his trademark 10-2 hand, you’ll earn an extra $1,020 bonus.

Bodog is revving up for Sunday’s battle between the NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals and the AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers by offering a $135 buy-in Flight Club tournament the day before the Big Game. The tournament awards one $6,000 Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) Punta del Este package for every 48 players who register. The package includes the $3,700 Main Event buy-in plus an additional $2,300 for players to use for travel and hotel expenses. The Punta del Este, Uruguay event begins on March 18th from the Mantra Resort Spa Casino and runs through the 20th. It’s officially sponsored by PokerStars. The Special Flight Club Semifinal tournament gives each player 3,000 starting chips and the blind levels last 15 minutes each.

Sunday regularly marks the Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed, which sees an overlay nearly every single week. This weekend, it will be replaced by a $100 buy-in tournament with an extra $20,000 added to the prize pool. The promotional tournament kicks off at 4:00pm ET on Sunday, so sign up now for the site’s Super Bowl Special tournament. Players in Sunday's event will start with 2,500 chips and the blind levels will last 15 minutes each. Last week’s Bodog $100,000 Guaranteed tournament was won by PocketFiver ShOrTy25, who defeated fellow site member Ragaboo heads-up. The pair took home $23,600 and $13,600, respectively.

We’ll see you this weekend on the felts of DoylesRoom and Bodog. Enjoy the Super Bowl!
