FTOPS: Day 3 Recap

By P5s Staff | Published Aug 09 2008, 09:39 AM

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series continued Friday and featured Events #4 and #5, with a total of eight PocketFives.com members final tabling the two events.

Action kicked off with the $600k Guaranteed Event #4 ($300+ 20 NLHE Cubed *1r+1a*) and attracted 970 total entrants.  After all the smoke had cleared, ryanghall walked away with a 1st place victory and nearly $160,000.  Ryan has had a couple of very nice scores on Full Tilt Poker recently; including 2nd place finishes in the $90k and $65k guaranteed tournaments.  However, none of those scores compare to his FTOPS victory in the early morning hours of Saturday.

PocketFiver b7zzy placed 5th in that same tournament for $43k and benvo123 of Austin, Texas earned $31k for 6th.  Ben bfineman Fineman took home close to $21k for 7th; only a couple of weeks after final tabling the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl for another $21,500.  Hungary's Tomif gsd rounded out the final table of Event #4 with a 9th place finish for $11,800.

The $100k Guaranteed FTOPS Event #5 ($200+16 Limit Seven Card Stud Hi) drew one of the largest fields ever in an online Stud tournament.  Almost 600 players faced off for a shot at an FTOPS tournament victory.  TheFellKnight almost pulled it off; but was defeated heads-up and received $17,700 for 2nd place.   Dylan ImaLucSac Linde of Idaho collected $2,500 for 7th and M Pi R won $1,700 for 8th place.

Action continues today with Event #6 ($500+35 PLO 6-handed) and Event #7 ($100+9 NLHE Rebuy).

Players can compete in dozens of unique satellite tournaments every hour for a shot at FTOPS glory.  Our readers are also encouraged to check out the high stakes FTOPS Contest which pits some of today's biggest online poker names against each other in a six-figure prize pool competition.  Updates on the high stakes FTOPS Contest can be found here.
