The second day of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series featured a pair of specialty tournaments as more than 1,000 players entered each of the two scheduled Series events. The big winner from early Friday morning action was PocketFiver CapTinBisKuiT (ranked #87 in the world at online tournament play). The Madison, Wisconsin high stakes tournament player took home the 1st place prize of $45,360 in Event #3 ($250k Guar. NLHE 6-handed Shootout). He outlasted fellow P5er therobbob20 in a heads up duel that lasted well over an hour. "Therobbob20" earned $28,500 for his 2nd place finish. Lucky_aces08 finished 4th in the 6-max shootout for $13k while cane3418 took 5th for $9k. FTOPS IX action also showcased one PocketFiver at the final table of Event #2 ($200k Guaranteed Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Knockout). Stuman123 received $3,600 for his 9th place finish and was able to cash in Event #3 as well.
The FTOPS IX kicked off on Wednesday evening, with over $15 million in prize pool money guaranteed over the course of 25 events. In Event #1 ($1 Million Guaranteed NLHE) on Wednesday, Dorinvandy walked away with over $120,000 for his runner-up performance at the final table. Mr_Bond222 earned $34k for 6th place in that tournament and fdel15 won $26,500 for 7th. Play resumes this afternoon with Event #4 ($600k Guaranteed NLHE Cubed *1r+1a*) at 2:00pm ET and continues with Event #5 ($100k Guaranteed 7-Card Stud) at 9:00pm Eastern. The respective event hosts will be online poker superstar dmmikkel and mainstream poker celebrity Cyndy Violette.
