Full Tilt Poker Releases FTOPS XIII Schedule

By Dan | Published Jul 03 2009, 06:40 PM |

If the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is getting you down, look no further than the 13th Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS), which is set to debut in August. A total of 25 tournaments will make up this go-around’s slate of events, which kicks off on August 5th with a $216 buy-in $1 million guaranteed No Limit Hold’em contest. Eleven days later, the FTOPS XIII Main Event will make its debut. As has been the case in the past, the feature tournament will carry a $535 buy-in and come with at least $2.5 million in the prize pool. It sounds like a lot of fun, right? We haven’t even mentioned the MiniFTOPS schedule, which begins one month later on September 9th and runs through the 20th. The bottom line is that a bevy of cash will be up for grabs.

Last time out, several PocketFivers made waves by taking down events during FTOPS XII. Who could forget Jason treysfull21 Mercier (pictured at left), who preceded his gold bracelet run in the 2009 WSOP with a first place finish in a $109 Pot Limit Omaha with Rebuys event for $86,000? Then there’s Spinvis, who claimed victory in a $216 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament, boosting his bankroll by $89,000. Dutch havoj Boyd earned a “W” after barreling through a $322 buy-in Razz tournament for $35,000 and Brody bro20 Miller proved his prowess in Omaha by taking down a $216 buy-in High-Low event during FTOPS XII for $45,000.

On the fifth day of FTOPS XII, my true love gave to me a victory by David Doc Sands Sands (pictured at right). The $322 buy-in tournament failed to reach its $1.5 million guarantee, but Sands made every cent of his investment count, storming to victory for $259,000. Three days prior, Mark Veteran In Love Aspili won a $256 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha Knockout tournament for well over $50,000. Austin quietwinner McCormick got things started off on the right foot by earning $117,000 after finishing as the runner-up in Event #1 of FTOPS XII. So what can you look forward to in August?
