Over three years have passed since PocketFives.com began serving the online poker community by providing the latest in online poker news and events, ranking online tournament players, and making its forums available to poker players around the world.  As the site has grown, it has become necessary to make several changes in site design and its forum software.  Therefore, on Friday, March 28th, PocketFives.com will launch its new version, bringing new features and faster load times to those who enjoy reading our site and posting in our forums.

Many new features are expected to be launched once the new version is up and running, including a new search feature, quicker access to our site, and other tools to further enhance the browsing experience.  However, the site will be down for at least 10 hours on Friday, March 28t as the new site is launched and the current database is migrated to the new site.  Long-time readers and posters will be glad to learn that the new site will include all past posts and threads.

In a March 24th press release, PocketFives.com Vice President Adam Small had the following to say about remaining patient for a short time after the new site has been launched.  "We've done a ton of debugging and testing on the new site, but there will almost certainly be some issues in the immediate period following our launch.  Our programmers have committed to being in the office all day Saturday to make sure things are going smoothly, so please let us know if you find any bugs or errors on the new site.  The best part about all of this is that our programmers will finally be freed up from several months' worth of work on this project, and we'll thereby be able to once again start building out a bunch of new and exciting features we've planned for this site."

We're proud to have served the online poker community for over three years, and look forward to making PocketFives.com the main source of online poker news for even more readers.  While additional features will be added in time, we'd like to take this opportunity to ask our readers to remain patient while the necessary adjustments are made post-launch.  As mentioned above, PocketFives.com will be down nearly all day this coming Friday, March 28th.
