PocketFives.com is truly an international poker community. On Tuesday night, two of its members from Norway finished first and third in the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Four-Max tournament. SomethingGood emerged victorious from the 3,290 player field, cashing for $95,410. Fellow Norwegian IFoldToAPush pocketed $36,190 for his third place finish. In the $215 Razz event (#10), scottyno and Raoeoiku both made the final table, finishing sixth and eighth, respectively. PocketFivers have now pocketed over $2.6 million from WCOOP final table appearances in 2008. Let’s recap the action from the $30 million guaranteed tournament series on PokerStars.
Event #9 was a $215 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Four-Max tournament that attracted a field of 3,290 players. At the end of the day, there was one man standing: PocketFiver SomethingGood. He also found success in the recently-completed Full Tilt Online Poker Series, cashing for $35,000 by virtue of a fourth place finish in Event #9. He also made the final table and finished fifth in a $2,620 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament on Full Tilt Poker in February for $132,656. One week prior, SomethingGood was the runner up in the PartyPoker $300K Guaranteed, winning $37,431.
PocketFivers who have won WCOOP events so far include _cwp394_, who took down Event #3, a $215 No Limit Hold’em tournament. He pocketed $73,385 for his efforts in the $300,000 Guaranteed event. Earlier this week, dorinvandy won the $10,300 buy-in High Roller No Limit tournament, cashing for a whopping $617,925. With SomethingGood’s win last night, PocketFivers have won three of the 10 completed WCOOP tournaments in 2008.
Also making a deep run in Event #9 was IFoldToAPush, who placed third and cashed for $36,190. The native of Oslo finished eighth in the Second Chance on PokerStars in June, cashing for $5,868. In the WCOOP’s eight-game mixed tournament, he scored $2,199 for 17th place out of a field of 1,128. Other high-stakes tallies include a fifth place finish in the $100 rebuy on PokerStars in April for $7,374. In tournaments that are tracked for the PocketFives.com Rankings, he banked over $8,200 in August.
One other tournament kicked off on Tuesday, a $215 buy-in Razz event. It generated a field of 1,288 players and, in the end, was won by Canadian dinho_style. Among the finalists in that tournament were two PocketFivers. Finishing in sixth place was scottyno, who banked $4,894. In February, he won Event #14 of the FTOPS, a $322 buy-in Razz event, for $41,000. In his profile on PocketFives.com, he appropriately claims his favorite tournament and cash game is Razz.
Rounding out the final table in the Razz event was Raoeoiku, who finished eighth. He took home a $3,220 payday. He finished second in the WCOOP Second Chance over the weekend for $44,709. He also managed a seventh place showing in Event #7 of FTOPS IX, a $100 rebuy tournament, for $15,527. In July, he finished third in the UltimateBet $200K Guaranteed for $18,000. Two weeks ago, he finished fourth in the $150 buy-in $40,000 Guaranteed on Full Tilt Poker, earning $12,461. In tournaments that count towards the Rankings, he piled up 19 total cashes in August for a grand total of $38,132.

The Main Event will take place one week from Sunday, on September 21st. The two-day tournament sports a $5,200 buy-in and offers a guaranteed prize pool of at least $10 million. The entire 2008 WCOOP guarantees at least $30 million. Visit PokerStars for a full schedule of events.
