In a lucrative promotion announced by the world’s largest online poker site, Extreme Satellites will award hundreds of extra seats into the 2009 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP). In fact, more than $1 million in seats will be added in Extreme Satellites, which kick off on August 4th on the friendly confines of PokerStars. Buy-ins start at just $7.50 and at least 50 seats will be added in every Extreme Satellite. Two to three run daily and are your ticket into the 45 events of the 2009 WCOOP, which begin on September 3rd with $215 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Six-Max and Razz tournaments. Let’s take this article to the extreme!
To find the special satellites, visit the “Tourney” lobby, click on “Special,” and then search for “WCOOP Extreme.” Two Extreme Satellites will play out on August 4th. The first, a $7.50 buy-in tournament, has 100 $109 seats added to the prize pool. Seven hours later, a $27 buy-in tournament will kick off with an extra 100 $215 seats on the line. The fine print reads, “Please note that WCOOP Extreme Satellites pay out tournament tickets only and these tickets cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged. They will only be accepted in WCOOP tourneys, with no exceptions.” Here’s a look at the Extreme Satellite schedule. All times are Eastern:

The 2009
WCOOP Main Event will kick off at 16:30 ET on September 20th. The $5,200 buy-in affair will play out over two days and boasts at least $10 million up for grabs. Also starting on September 20th is a $10,300 buy-in HORSE High Roller tournament with $1 million in the prize pool and a $215 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event that also has $1 million on the line. Visit
