Peter has had very significant online poker tournament scores in the last months of '08; including a victory in the PokerStars Sunday Million for $196,000. He also has wins in the Stars "Sunday 500" for $91k and the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl for $72,100. PocketFiver breeth is still ranked relatively low on the Pro Poll at #6 and will likely need a higher Pro Poll ranking from his online tournament peers to overtake the top ranking in the world. High volume player shaundeeb moves up one to #5 this week after winning the Stars Nightly Hundred Grand on Thursday for $21,500 and rivermanl is up two to #7 worldwide.
Tomgus456 of Stockholm, Sweden had an outstanding year of 2008; headlined by his Stars Sunday Million win earlier this year for nearly $220,000. He won the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl on the last day of November to boost his worldwide ranking and he currently sits at #15 in the world. Another rising superstar, govshark2, is up three to #17 while Ryan ryanbluf Karp advances 11 spots to #22 on the strength of his PokerStars Nightly Hundred Grand and $70k Guaranteed victories in December. D1rtyR1v3r climbs six to #24.
Felipe improved Montenegro of Costa Rica (pictured) moves up six to #26 thanks to his consistent results in high stakes online poker tournaments in recent months. One month after taking down the Titan Poker $250k Guaranteed for $55k, Felipe took down the Stars $100 rebuy for $36,000. Illinois' chicagocards1 is now ranked #29 worldwide and Johan busto_soon van Til of The Netherlands begins to work his way back into the top 10 this week as he ascends 17 to #31 after winning the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl a week ago for almost $80,000. Nick agriffrod Mitchell's outright victory in the FTOPS X $1k event for $322,500 in November has been enough to propel him another five spots to #36.
Ryan gutshtallin Welch is up six to #37, while Jonathan xMONSTERxDONGx Karamalikis of Australia rises six to #49. Mossified84 is up 23 spots to #59 after winning both the $100 and $10 rebuy tournaments on PokerStars a week ago for a combined total of $27,700. Jeffrey YoungSupremacy Hakim of Canada had a victory in the Stars $100 rebuy earlier this month along with a runner up performance in the PartyPoker $50k Guaranteed Saturday event yesterday and is up 17 to #64 accordingly. PocketFiver bounatirouIMO is new to the online poker tournament rankings this week at #80 and flywiithme enters at #86. Former WSOP Europe Main Event champion Annette Annette_15 Obrestad of Norway re-enters the rankings this week at #93, Pist0nH0nda is new at #98, and Allanon is now ranked #99 in the world at online tournament play.
